Unless you are a connoisseur of protective cases for electronic devices, the chances are high that you have not heard of Piel Frama. Piel Frama is a company located in Ubrique, Spain that one may consider to be a boutique manufacturer. They import high quality coverings for devices ranging from PDAs, smartphones, MP3 players, and much more. Now, with the release of the iPad, they have decided to create some gems to protect one of the hottest devices on the market. Piel Frama imports their cases on a limited scale to the United States and around the globe. They are not entirely new to the game, however, as they began making leather cases in 1945 and in 1984 they jumped into protection for devices. Their products are handmade, which lets you know that what you are buying is likely to be of high quality.

The Piel Frama iPad case comes in two major categories that are separated by the type of enclosure it uses. One uses a magnetic closer to secure the iPad and enclose the case for travel, while the other uses a snap closure to do so. The cases do not involve a stand apparatus so that you can prop them up, and they are mostly intended for protection during travel. Of course, you can place them on a table top and work on your iPad if you choose. For added functionality, each case has openings so you can access all the necessary iPad buttons and ports. They also have a document sleeve to store important paperwork, and each comes with a leather chamois as well.

Style is what really sets the Piel Frama cases apart from many other iPad cases. You get plenty of different colors and materials to choose from. The most basic choice is made out of high quality cowskin, and it comes in a variety of different colors such as black, black/tan, green, red, blue, and more. Further up the quality ladder is a selection made of cowskin and ostrich. If you really want to show off and have more cash in your pocket, you can go for the ultimate selection, which is made of cowskin and crocodile. This flashy combo comes in either black or tan. These luxury cases are available online from Amazon's website, ranging from $99 to $149, and are a good choice if you want to carry your iPad around in style.
