iPad Accessory Review: Griffin Outfit Case

The moniker chosen by Griffin for this case really suits the accessory well. The Outfit is just that: an “outfit” or way to dress up your iPad. Why? Well, when you consider that the case comes in a variety of different colors, it is as if you are shopping for clothing for your new tablet. The manufacturer did a good job of producing the case in different colors to suit both the masculine and feminine demographic, as well as the more professional or flashy types. You have the option to choose from four color schemes: Clear, Smoke, Blue, or Purple. The Clear scheme will appeal to those who want minimal distraction from their iPad's look, as it is translucent. Smoke is a dark, black-ish color that should appeal to those who want minimal flair. The Blue and Purple schemes will probably appeal to the younger crowd. While the Outfit does dress up the iPad nicely, it is first and foremost a protective case. It is made of hard-shell polycarbonate material to help keep the tablet safe from everyday bumps and bruises. It protects the sides and back of the iPad, so the display will be left unobstructed but also unprotected. If you want 100 percent protection, you will have to look for another case that also covers the display. Installation is a snap, literally, as you can snap the case right onto the iPad whenever you want protection while traveling or in the safety of your own home. Functionality remains complete as well, as all of the necessary ports and buttons can be accessed while the case is on. Since the display remains free of any protection, you will also get full use of it as well.

The Outfit is not the most durable case you will find on the market. It is quite streamlined, however, and if you pick the Clear color scheme, you might even forget that the case is even attached. Those looking for something simple yet stylish to protect the iPad will likely find the Outfit as a worthy buy. The Clear and Smoke versions retail for $35, while the Blue and Purple ones go for $40. Those price tags are not too bad when you consider the streamlined design that is still dependable.
