iPad Accessory Review: Elan Form Graphite Case From Griffin

Just like the recently reviewed Reveal Case, the Elan Form Graphite Case is quite simple in design. The main difference is that the Reveal provides a transparent backing that allows you to see the iPad's back panel in its fullest form. Some may find that aspect of the Reveal to be more appealing from a looks and aesthetics standpoint, but others may opt for a darker look, which the Elan provides.
If you are looking for a case that protects the iPad completely, this one will probably disappoint. As is, it does not have any protective covering for the tablet's display, leaving it naked and exposed. Keeping that aspect in mind, those who are highly active, constantly on the go, and like taking their iPad out into the elements will need something more complete in the protective arena.

While it leaves the display exposed, the Elan Form Graphite Case does offer a double layer of protection for the rest of the iPad's exterior. Its inner shell is composed of sturdy polycarbonate material that is resistant to impact. This comes in handy should you incur any bumps or sudden movements while using the iPad. The outer shell is made from a synthetic material to provide even more cushion to your beloved tablet. To add a bit of aesthetic flair, the protective back of the case features a woven pattern similar to carbon fiber that is eye-catching. The case's black color scheme is also favorable for those who like accessories with more of an unassuming look. While the case does keep the iPad protected, it does so at no cost for functionality. All of your vital buttons and ports remain exposed for full usage while the iPad is encased. So, who should purchase this case? It most likely will appeal to casual users of the iPad looking for some extra protection that is provided without adding a lot of extra bulk or weight to the device. The look is minimalistic and modern, and should attract those who want to keep their iPad's appearance professional. The Elan Form Graphite Case is not cheap at $50, but it is a worthy option for those currently in need of a protective shell.
