iPad Accessory Review: A-Frame Tabletop Stand From Griffin

In case you have not noticed, there is not shortage of iPad accessories on the market. This is especially true when it comes to stands, as it seems like most accessory manufacturers are trying to get a piece of Apple's hot pie. There are stands with wacky designs, ones that are one dimensional, and others that offer different ergonomic features. The A-Frame Tabletop falls into the final category. The first thing that is noticeable when looking at the stand by itself is just how simple it is. It appears to be well-built and is not too bulky, which is great if you have limited space on your desk to position the iPad. The stand's metallic color scheme is nice and professional. The design is sturdy thanks to heavy aluminum construction. It's not entirely rough, however, as its cradle is made of non-slip silicone that holds the iPad in place without scratching it up.

Perhaps one of the best features the A-Frame has to offer is that you can place your iPad while in a case into the stand. It's mostly designed to fit Griffin's own cases, but you may have some luck with cases from other manufacturers as well. In terms of ergonomics, the A-Frame allows you to use the iPad in either portrait or landscape modes, so you won't be limited in any way. You can use the stand in an upright position for viewing media, or you can also adjust it so that it rests at a slight angle above a tabletop. This is ideal should you need to type or surf the web. As you can see, the A-Frame is a nice combination of good looks and functionality. It's a bit pricey at $50, but it's worth it if you really want to use your iPad in comfort and style.
