The most basic in the range is the ‘Quickie. A bag for your device essentials, this will carry your iPad plus the power brick and a few other bits and bobs. The Timbuk2 website describes this bag as having  an ultrastudded ‘Loveglove’ to keep your tablet safe and secure. A ‘Loveglove’?? For goodness’ sake… The Quickie is made from a smooth Oxford nylon fabric and is robust yet lightweight. Cables and the power brick can be stored in one of the external pockets, with the other one useful for keys, cash and other essentials. The Quickie retails at $45. Fancy something a bit more fancy? The next level up in Timbuk2 iPad bags is the Slingshot. I like this more than the Quickie, and it’s $10 cheaper at $35. This is ‘ultra lightweight’ and designed more specifically to be used as a courier bag. It has a fully padded main compartment to protect your iPad with just a little room to spare. You can wear it 3 ways: over the shoulder, across the chest or around the hips. It has a strap system that allows you to fit the bag perfectly to your body size with no need for readjusting each time you take it of. The Slingshot also has a cycle-lock holder, an essential comfort consideration if you really are a courier. The Timbuk2 website also states that the Slingshot will hold up to 6 beer cans! Wahey! In at the top of the range come the Freestyle iPad Messenger. This was probably invented my Mary Poppins’ nephew. It’ll hold not only your precious iPad with room to spare but its other pockets give you space for keys, cash, shades, lunch, drink, probably even a spare T shirt and your Xbox (well, perhaps not the Xbox). This bag is as rugged as they come, made from lightweight waterproof ballistic nylon. Available in three color designs, the Freestyle will set you back $65. If you use a messenger bag for more than just getting yourself to and from the office, the Freestyle is definitely your baby.
