iPad Accessories: Skadoosh Stand for iPad

Skadoosh is small and light, weighing in at about 8 oz and tiny enough to fold up and carry along with your iPad. Don’t be deceived by the size, Skadoosh is sturdy and durable. It is also wonderfully flexible, holding your iPad at a range of angles to suit your own personal preferred viewing position. Changing the stand’s angle is a simple process of pressing the support button, adjusting the angle and then releasing the button again to lock the stand in place. Skadoosh stand maintains limited contact with your iPad, supporting the device on a plastic rocker. The stand delivers additional support with a rubber-ringed aluminium cross-bar along the back. As you’d expect from a quality stand, the Skadoosh supports the iPad equally well in landscape as well as portrait mode. One of the defining features of the Skadoosh stand is its ability to support the iPad within certain cases, or ‘naked’. The supporting crossbar can be adjusted to accommodate an iPad with one of many cases, and is 100% compatible with the official Apple case. Adjusting the crossbar is a matter of loosening the rocker screw, rearranging the tilt and tightening the screw again. This process of changing the tilt is the only part of the Skadoosh stand I don’t like. Anything that requires me to find a screwdriver to perform what should be a simple operation is going to annoy me. Having said that, a real plus point is the small amount of valuable thought put into the grove at the back of the stand, perfectly placed to provide access to the iPad recharger cable. A lovely touch offered by Ja Du Industries is the option to have your stand laser-etched. This will obviously cost you an extra premium and will delay delivery by about a week. However it’s a great way to completely personalize your stand. I like this stand, and apart from the screwdriver annoyance I think it's well worth the $99.99 price tag ($111.99 if you choose the laser etching). This stand is beautifully made, sturdy, light and portable. It is made of quality materials and will probably outlast your current first generation iPad. It is available via the Ja Du Industries website: www.jadu-industries.com
