Here’s a way to cart around all your essentials while keeping them close at hand. Entrepreneur Scott E. Jordan’s multipocketed ScotteVest Essential Travel Jacket boasts “18 secure pockets” (the ads say 22) and a little card in each tells you what it’s designed to hold. There’s an assigned pocket for your sunglasses, keys, digital camera, wallet, passport, water bottle, cell phone, iPod, iPad and more. Two specialized pockets are faced in “clear touch” fabric, for your phone and iPod, plus a hidden place under the collar to wire in earbuds. Also inside are top-secret spots to hide credit cards or cash from muggers, provided they don’t just steal the whole jacket and everything that’s in it.. This contraption reminds me of a flak jacket—too bad it doesn’t come in camo. Obviously, by the time you’ve loaded this jacket down with all these gadgets, you’re going look about fifty pounds heavier and list to the front. I can’t imagine what airport security will do when they see a passenger who looks like the Michelin tire man waddling toward their checkpoint. I suppose you’re expected to keep this thing on for the entire flight, but what if you can’t get your tray table to fold down because of all that extra frontage?
