iPad Accessories: Powerup your iPad with Hypermac External Battery

Hypermac already supply a range of external batteries for MacBooks, iPhones and iPods. They’ve now set their sites on the iPad. In fact these are the only external batteries to be fully compatible with the entire range of mobile Apple products. There are 4 batteries of varying sizes to choose from. The entry-level battery will give you 34 hours of use, whilst the nuclear-power-station battery at the top end gives you a massive 99 hours. You could almost run an electric car off that! With such massive power available even from the cheapest battery, Hypermac gives you the added bonus of a USB 5v/1A power port. This nifty little number allows you to recharge two devices simultaneously, for example your iPhone and your iPad. This is great as it recharges the device’s battery at the same time as allowing you to keep the device switched on. You can recharge your Hypermac battery from mains electricity or use the car-power slot for on-the-move recharging. The downside is this: the Hypermac external battery doesn’t come cheap. In fact, at the starting price of $200 for the smallest in the range, this is a pretty large investment for a glorified rechargeable battery. The 99 hours mega battery comes in at a mind-numbing $500! You could buy another iPad for that kind of spending. Although I love my iPad, and I’m a bit of an addict right now, I’m not sure that parting with $200 to extend my playtime is cash I want to part with. I may love my iPad, but I don’t love it that much. It would be cheaper to take it out for a meal and the movies…
