Ó

This is a 3-piece speaker system for your iPad, offering you 2.1 stereo sound. The subwoofer comes alongside two satellite speakers designed to give you excellent quality sound reproduction with a depth of field not normally associated with speakers of this small size.  For everyone who understands the physics of audio technology, the JBL Creature III Speakers use a combination of ‘proprietary transducer technology’ and an inbuilt amplifier. I’m not sure what a transducer is, but I do know good sound when I hear it, and these pyramids re-create sweet music to your ears… or video soundtrack … or gaming audio for that matter! JBL has done the job of a set of mini speakers reproducing velvet bass tones, crisp midrange and clarity in the upper range. They have a neat volume control system: like your iPad screen it is touch-based. The speakers also ‘remember’ your previous volume setting. The satellite speakers pump out 5 watts of music power a piece, with the subwoofer coughing out a decent 15 watts. Unfortunately I have my usual beef with the JBL Creature III Speakers as with many others around connectivity: no Bluetooth! Instead you get to destroy the sleek and otherworldly lines of your speakers by trailing leads between them and your iPad. The good news though is that these speakers will work with any other device with a 1/8” mini audio jack, but I would prefer the lead-less Bluetooth. These speakers are at the more-expensive end of the market, at $99.95. They are available from the Apple Store and other online retailers including Amazon, B&H and Best Buy. They are also available in local retailers. Visit the website to find out where: http://www.jbl.com
