iPad 2: Jailbreaking Possibilities

• Though the multitasking capabilities which the iPad obtained through iOS 4.2 are useful, it has not been well received. Power users expected a better multitasking experience and a jailbroken iPad 2 could well just provide that. Due to the better processor on the iPad 2, it may be possible to develop much better apps for multitasking on it. Imagine an expose of WebOS 2.0 style of interface for multitasking.
• The presence of 2 cameras on the iPad 2 opens a window full of opportunities for jailbreak app developers. The iPad 2 will definitely see a range of augmented reality apps. Less in the Apple app store due to new rules but more on the Cydia app store.
• Everyone knows about the multi-touch gestures which was available in the beta versions of iOS 4.3. Unfortunately, Apple has decided not to adopt this in the final release of iOS 4.3. Fortunately, this doesn’t stop hackers from hacking and enabling this feature, thus making use of the iPad 2’s large screen for gestures.
• The Notification system hasn’t been tweaked in iOS 4.3 though reports have suggested that iOS 5 to be launched in June will have a revamped notification system. But why wait when you have awesome jailbroken apps such as MobileNotifier to improve this on your jailbroken iPad 2?
• It is quite obvious that with a better iPad i.e. iPad 2 there are much better jailbreak apps yet to storm into Cydia.

But there is only one problem. The iPad 2 is a completely new hardware and software. If Apple has been clever in making sure that previous versions of jailbreaking won’t work on the iPad 2 then it may be some time before which someone develops a completely new method of Jailbreaking. Only time will tell but for now hope for the best and wait for March 11^th to get hold of some answers.
