There's something to look forward to at the upcoming Video Game Awards, and it comes in the form of something very Reachable, if you get my drift. Yep, that's right. The first in-game footage of Bungie's highly anticipated iteration to the famed Halo franchise, Halo: Reach, will be debuting then. Among the many people turning listless in wait is Geoff Keighley, who boldly predicts that the game will be a "huge leap forward."

Common belief and logic would have it that if unless you jailbreak your iPhone, you are keeping it secured from attacks against any spyware. A Swiss developer is hereby challenging that notion, saying that in fact, if your iPhone is a jailbreak-virgin, you are making it more vulnerable and susceptible to malicious apps.

We can definitely feel Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain inching closer and closer to its release date. We never doubted the hype surrounding this PS3-exclusive, but it's exciting, nonetheless, to finally see its official US boxart unveiled and revealed. The humongous DSi LL continues its streak of domination by gigantic proportions over the Japanese hardware sales charts, and really, the rest of the participants in this console race can only hope to get an inch closer to the number of units the LL has sold. Granted, there was a dip in its performance, dropping some 33.13% from last week, it doesn't change the fact that it's still the one on top. It wasn't quite the knockout punch that boxing gaming fans were expecting with the release of "Champions Pack 2", the latest DLC for Fight Night Round 4 on the Xbox 360 (game also on PS3). Instead, they were knocked out when it had to be pulled out because of persistent freezing issues.

Elevators. You know they're important because they bring you from point A to point B in less time, with less effort. Even video game heroes need the use of this trusty technology, especially if they're on the run to save the world/universe/galaxy. But in video games, taking that ride up the elevator could be tedious, particulary for impatient players. Like in Mass Effect 2 (Xbox 360, PC).

It's quite a measly serving of games this week compared to the past couple of weeks where we saw a steady downpour of releases. Not to worry, though. For the past few years, Crystal Dynamics has been pretty much synonymous with the Tomb Raider franchise, so when they talk about a new AAA title in development at the studio the name "Lara Croft" immediately comes to mind. While a new Tomb Raider seems a foregone conclusion, it seems Crystal Dynamics may be bringing something new to the table.

A Brazilian senator is putting "offensive" videogames on the chopping block through a bill that spells imprisonment for those caught making, importing, or distrubuting such games in Brazil. More details after the jump.
