GameTrailers was recently able to have a little chitchat with Pandemic Studios' co-founder Andrew Goldman to talk about their upcoming multi-platformer, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames.

Goldman says that Mercenaries 2 places more focus on being the best mercenary out there, as compared to the prequel which was really more about the money. Goldman's also talks proudly about the game's highly destructible game environments, which are rendered using pushed-to-the-limit physics. One of the basic points he makes is that they're just there to offer weapons and vehicles, but it's entirely up to the players to develop their own original tactics and gameplay styles.

Featuring 130 vehicles, better storyline construction, kickass weapons, and loads loads more, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is set to conquer your PCs, 360s, and PS3s this year.

goblin fight Spiderman 3 screenshot - Image 1We've just gotten our filthy hands on the first batch of screens for the DS version of Activision's multi-platform superhero title, Spider-Man 3.

For those who haven't been reading up on the game (and you haven't checked out the game's site yet), you should know that this side-scrolling baby will make full use of the DS's touch screen and will feature local wireless multiplayer modes. You'll as lo get to challenge one of your friends to go head to head in game challenges like Hot Potato, Target Practice, Brawler, and Combo Challenge.

For the first time ever, players will also be able to explore good old Spidey's black suit-donning alternate persona, Venom (also playable, by the way). So see, it's still fun to know that not all superheroes are your typical goody two shoes, eh?

Also available for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PSP, and PC, Spider-Man 3 is slated for release this May and will carry with it a price tag of US$ 29.99.

Yeah yeah, we know Burnout Dominator has been out for more than a week now. But for all those who still haven't grabbed a copy of the game, this post is for you. Up for your viewing pleasure are these two gameplay vids aptly entitled PSP Domination and PSP Takedown, which shows you minutes of nothing but pure handheld gameplay.

As you know, the game boasts of the new Maniac Mode which will require players to take down other players and pull off multiple stunt combos -- simultaneously. Doesn't get more maniacal than that, if ya ask me. So anyway, if you're still lingering on limbo trying to decide whether to get the game or not, watch these gameplay vids and see if they can help you decide.

The Takedown gameplay vid awaits in the full article!

The Witcher - Image 1

Thanks to Atari, we've just scored all-new screens for CD Projekt's The Witcher. Why Atari? Well, as you know, they've taken over the NA publishing duties for this upcoming RPG for the PC. And to kick off their promo campaign, they've just released this brand new batch of screens to temporarily satiate our cravings.

As you know, the game is based on a character named "Witcher" who's been trained to be the ultimate warrior, fighting off beasts, monsters, werewolves, and the undead (like the pretty li'l missy in the image above. Haha). With game features that include real-time combat with mo-cap animations by sword combat masters, you'll be hacking and slashing off monsters' heads with finesse and...uh..rage (quite the combo, eh?).

The Witcher is also powered by Criterion’s Karma Engine to simulate interaction with opponents as well as various elements in the environment. The game will also have three different endings, depending on your actions and the decisions you make as you progress through the game. If your interest has been piqued, keep an eye out for The Witcher as it hits shelves Fall this year.

Allegretto in Eternal Sonata - Image 1

Can't get enough of Namco Bandai's Eternal Sonata, eh? After being renamed from Trusty Bell to what we now know as Eternal Sonata, Tri-Crescendo seems to be doing a great job in developing the game as the cel-shading and 3D rendering are looking top notch.

You'll also be glad to know that the batch of screens we have now finally dons English subtitles (as compared to the previous ones we've seen), thus enabling us to better understand the goings on in the game. And before you dismiss Eternal Sonata as an overly romantic title (as most will be tempted to do), you should know that it's not just about Chopin's music and saving the one you love.

Well sure, that's basically the premise of the game, but it's also worth noting that you'll get to have some ass-kicking action (as you'll see in the screens below) with its turn-based battle system with a special attack feature dependent on light and shadow. Interesting, huh?

Eternal Sonata is said to be slated for a Japanese release this June, with the U.S. and Euro versions hitting shelves "soon after." So lest you get all dramatic while waiting for the game, check out these screens we have below.

Pogo Island - Image 1Currently brewing in EA Canada's labs is Pogo Island, which compiles five of the most popular games found over at Pogo.com - Word Whomp, Poppit!, Phlinx, Tri-Peaks Solitaire, and Squelchies.
  • Word Whomp - kinda like Text Twist, requires you to guess the word by unscrambling the letters
  • Phlinx - you have to group together stones of the same color
  • Poppit! - good old balloon-popping fun
  • Squelchies - nah, contrary to what this writer thought, you won't be using the DS's mic and letting out loud squelches (awwww. haha!). Instead, you'll get to manipulate three same colored aquatic creatures to make way for more creatures as they advance downward
  • Tri-Peake Solitaire - (need we explain this one, folks?)
But in addition to all these, there's also reportedly a meta game that'll require players to look for Pogo mascots found scattered all over the backdrops of Pogo Island. Kinduva healthy distraction, if ya ask me.*winks*

So anyway, another cool thing about Pogo Island is that you'll get to collect tokens while playing the game which you can then transfer to Pogo.com and earn bragging rights. Hahaha. Pogo Island is set to bounce your way on March 26 and will sell for an SRP of US$ 29.99.

Confession: Trunks has always been one of this writer's biggest videogame character crushes since time immemorial. So it's with ardent zeal that I report to you guys about this Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai Another Road gameplay vid we found which places the focus on my childhood crushie, Trunks. (cue giddy schoolgirl, haha!)

As y'all probably know already, the game it set to conquer your handhelds on March 20, and will feature virtually all the characters you've known and loved in the series. The vid above packs in loads of action but unfortunately the voice-overs can get a bit annoying ("take this! take this! take this!" -- Ugh.), so you might wanna turn the volume a bit down, hehe.

If you want (and if you're a fellow Trunks fanatic), you can also check out the Trunks vs. Majin Buu vid we featured earlier. March 20 isn't that far off guys, so if you're all psyched to get this game, it's best you load up on all the previews and sneak peeks so you won't get scorched when you finally get your hands on the game. Enjoy the vid!

And so another classic game is resurrected on your PSPs. Having previously appeared on several systems with the last being Sega Game Gear in 1992, Alien Syndrome will have you running and gunning down (make a wild guess on this -- yep, ya got it) aliens.

Don't expect to see Ricky and Mary though, as Aileen Harding will be featured as the new Earth Command Trooper. Not to worry, we trust she'll be just as kickass, what with 20 different types of weapons to blast the bejeezus outta the 100 alien species you'll encounter in the game.

And to give you a sneak peek at all this action, we're gonna share with you this Alien Blasting gameplay video we scored via GameTrailers which shows us some of the aliens you'll be fighting off -- from the ginormous creepy crawlies (that multiply when blasted) to the three-legged weird-assed creatures.

But anyway, we'll just let you catch all that yourself, just hit play and you're good to go.

Tales of the World - Image 1

IGN was able to score a quick Q&A with the folks at Namco Bandai regarding their upcoming RPG for the PSP, Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology. And aside from confirming that the hot title will be heading to U.S. shores, they also reveal more details on essential game aspects like the storyline, battle systems, infrastructure support, ad hoc features, and tons more. The interview is pretty intensive but join us as we try to bring you the gist of the interview, alrighty?
  • Characters: TotW will feature characters from "just about every previous installment out there." So yes, you'll be seeing Chester, Leon, Reid, Senel, and Rain (to name a few) on your handhelds.
  • Storyline: Namco Bandai says that the storyline for TotW will be original and is a new chapter in the "Tales of.." series. And like all other chapters, this one won't be related to previous installments.
  • On the Flex Range LM Battle System: the battle system you saw in Tales of the Abyss will be making a comeback in TotW, with the same free-roaming, fighting game-inspired battle system
  • Ad hoc features: "Players will be able to trade items with one another via ad hoc. However, they will not be able to participate in multiplayer battles this time." (Waaah, still no multiplayer modes!)
  • The US version will not have infrastructure support.
  • On the game's dev status: "The game has been in development for a year and a half now..We had plans to make this for the PSP from the very start."
That's about it guys. But if you wanna check out the full interview yourself, feel free to do so by clicking on the link below.
