WiiMost, if not, all of us, know that doing warm-ups is a must before we do any kind of rigorous activity. As such, we see players do some exercises before they plunge themselves into a game.

Now, I'm not really sure if the contestants at the World Cyber Games have a "gaming warm-up" of their own, but the British Chiropractic Association think that Wii players should, to avoid stiffness and possible injuries.

And what kind of "Wiixercises" should avid Wii fans engage in before playing? Well, there's the "Shoulder Shrug" to relax your shoulder muscles, and the "Wrist Stretch" to decrease stress on your wrists; among many others.

If you ask me, I find these "Wii warm-ups" rather feasible. My right hand's been hurting a lot lately, and I think my DS addiction is to blame. After all, countless hours of "stylus battles" can put a strain on one's wrist.

Now, that's just my experience. But who knows, maybe some Wii users are experiencing some wrist problems of their own too. It wouldn't hurt to give the BCA's "wrist stretch" a try, don't you think?

Rocket Commander XNA

Heads up, XNA Game Studio Express by Microsoft">XNA users! Benjamin Nitschke has a post-Christmas present for you guys, and we're pretty sure it would elicit merry ho-ho-ho's. You see, our guy Benjamin just made an Xbox 360 port of the popular game, Rocket Commander, where you fly a rocket ship, follow your target, and either dodge those big, chunky asteroids, or fly through the donut-shaped ones.

How do you access it? Basically, all you need is an Xbox 360 with XNA on it, and an Internet access of course, so you can download the files.

So, is it worth tons of megabytes filling in your hard disk space? You bet! But then again, don't take my word for it. Why don't you try it out for yourself? Just click the "read" link below for the downloads and more game info.

Ó

PSPChristmas is just around the corner, and it seems that it has made the PSP homebrew community alive and kicking. Of course, it's just our zany theory that's most likely wrong, but we sure find it interesting that we've been receiving more reports of new homebrew creations, And more homebrew means happiness all around, right?

Anyway, we just heard that agent_dark64 from our forums just released a beta version of his project, **PSPShark** CWCHEAT. Basically, this one's a "cwcheat-like program" that works on all devhook emulated firmware versions 2.71 above. This one also has a GUI. Do take note, though, that this one needs 8 megs of memory, which is great as it enables users more searching options. However, this version needs devhook v1.51 to work.

Here are the dev's notes that you might want to check out first:
  • For Devhook Install: Just run the installer exe and follow the on screen instructions.
  • For Custom Firmware Install: (note, this is untested, may not work) NOTE: Do this at your own risk, always have a way to recover your files back if it bricks, especially the pspbtcnf txt files.
    • You will need to run the installer and install it for devhook (that means you should extract the devhook files on the memory stick before this if you don't have devhook installed).
    • Next you will need to install the pspShark.prx file (after the install it will be in the (MS ROOT)/dh/05/kd/pspShark.prx) to your flash (whereever the other devhook plugin files are normally placed).
    • You will then need to update the pspbtcnf txt files to add the pspShark.prx to boot up (BE CAREFUL OF THIS).
    • Now when your psp boots up, you will need to have the memory stick in (the one you had in your psp when you installed pspShark) because it will have put some images in the (MS ROOT)/dh/kd/pspShark/Images/ folder and the pspShark.prx references this directly to the memory stick at this specific folder.
    • If pspShark cannot find the images on boot (so for example, you didn't have the memory stick in the psp), the menu will be disabled and you won't be able to use pspShark, however the psp won't brick for missing images.
  • pspShark itself (as in pspShark.prx) does not write to the flash in any way.

Wil they be singing their way to the Wii, too?So, you think you got all your Disney games down pat? Well, think again as our source has reported that a Wii game from Buena Vista is in the works. And what exactly is this game? Let me give you a hint: Better stick to the status quo.

You see, it's entitled, High School Musical and yeah, it MAY just be related to Disney's hit made-for-TV-movie *cough*. If it is, then it may just bop to the top since, after all, the movie, and the soundtrack were a hit. Anyway, no further details have been disclosed except that the game is slated for a July 31, 2007 release.

Honestly, I can't help but wonder what kind of game it would be. Hopefully, it will break free and deliver something that fans are looking for. After all, it's interesting to see the start of something new.

is our hero really evil?

So, ya think your favorite plumbing, swooping brothers from Nintendo are all kid-friendly? Well, Reverend Anthony from Destructoid probably wondered just the same thing, and as a result, he came up with a zany list just to point how "sinister" Mario is.

First off, there's the deal about mushrooms. I know you're probably thinking about *ahem* various chemicals to alter mental states, but well, it's too early for that. You see, Reverend Anthony speculates that maybe, just maybe, those mushroom power-ups are actually dismembered citizens from the Mushroom Kingdom, comfortably snuck in question-mark boxes for Mario to "unwittingly" come across.

Second on the list is Mario's allegory for the Bolshevik Revolution. Come to think of it, mario's got the whole thing down pat: the "trademark" Stalin mustache, the star on the flag, the "overthrowing an empire" thing, AND the red outfit.

Check out the rest of the article after the jump!

Do you remember those zany depictions of the future, where everything is so techie, even insects are machine-driven?

Whaaat?

Okay, maybe that was MY zany depiction of the future, but well if we have animal replicas propelled by engines, then that says something about how far our technology has gone, right?

Anyway, if you were wondering why I keep gushing about robot animals, well it's just that we here at QJ came across this cool video about WoWWee's cool product: the FlyTech Dragonfly bot. What's interesting is that this product uses its "flapping power" to stay airborne, for a good 15 minutes or so.

This product's slated for an early 2007 release and will be showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January.

Ó

WiimoteThe Wii's innovative motion-controller may have made some people go, "Ooh! Must. Have. That. Console."  But that doesn't mean it's the "Perfect console of All Time" either.

And why isn't it? Well, ComputerandVideogames.com says that there's still room for improvement for the Wii's interface, as they had encounter a few "glitches" recently.

Our source says that "for a console that's supposed to be connected to the Internet 24/7," the Shop Channel is quite slow. Also, they noticed that although the "channel system is great," every Virtual Console game you download is given its own channel, which can be a problem if you intend to simultaneously download 37 games all at the same time.

There are restrictions in the photo editing features as well, so even if you spent hours trying to attach Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to your photo, the system will not be able to save it on your SD card.

They also said that the Mii editing feature was too basic, and they also brought up the "four-line only" email restriction.
