Major NelsonWith all of the amazing Wii news being released this week, it's easy to overlook many other important events going on in the gaming industry. So here's a taste of what's been happening outside of Nintendo.

Major Nelson (a.k.a. Larry Hryb) sat down for an interview with 360Monster to give you guys some of the latest and most important news in the gaming world. This interview covers some topics such as another Xbox Live update and his anticipation of the Wii's release.

He tells us that the Xbox Live update will be more centered around the developers this time, unlike the previous spring update. He also tells us that even he is looking forward to Nintendo's console release. One of the high points in the interview, is Major Nelson's statement that there's going to be at least 50 Xbox Live arcade games out by Christmas, including new titles and even more of our beloved classic games.

You can check out the full interview by clicking on "Read."

With all of the great new Wii news to take in at present, it's pretty overwhelming. But we like this abundance in Wii games-related news. Take a look at this gameplay video from one of the more anticipated Wii games to come out.

Wario Ware: Smooth Moves definitely captures everyone's attention especially because it looks like it will be one of the more "fun" games to be released for Ninty's console. The game itself will feature 200 minigames to test your quick reflexes. The video we have here shows a little cluster of said minigames, and some of the different ways the remote will be used.

Make sure to view the rest of our around the coverage of the newest information on the Wii and on the games to be released for the console. Enjoy the video!

Well, today we have for you three new scans from the ever so popular Japanese magazine Famitsu.  These are from a game based on nothing but fan service, Dead of Alive Extreme 2, for the Xbox 360.  The graphics of course are going to have even more realistic bounces and curves now that it is going to be presented on the Xbox 360, including tan lines!  This time around it will  include more than just volleyball, but also jet-skis and other beach activities.  Take a look at these huge scans and feel free  to click on the thumbnail for a larger picture.

Lumines Live

The Official Xbox magazine has shed some light on Lumines Live! for us, and it isn't looking very nice either.  First off, the game is supposed to cost a whopping 1200 Microsoft Points, and to think that isn't even going to include the full game!  Once you have gotten past a certain point in Mission and Vs. CPU modes, more levels will have to be purchased for another 300 or 400 Microsoft Points each!  One would think that 1200 Microsoft points would include everything from the full game, to picture packs, and a free toaster. What do you think about it?  Post a comment, and let us know what's on your mind.

The Wii, of course was well represented at the Leipzig Convention in Germany this year. Leipzig may be the convention that will be taking E3's place, due to the recent alterations of the E3 plan. Leipzig is full of booth babes, stands, and Wii Swag!  We have here a picture of a beautiful messenger bag, and a glowing pen, sporting the slogan "Wii: Play Together" which we found to be a great slogan for such a cool system.  This just shows us that the Wii launch is even more imminent.  It also tells us the the "Wii" name is here to stay.

Motorstorm

The official website for MotorStorm is now online in its under-construction form known as a site teaser.  MotorStorm is an extreme racing game that is to be released for the PlayStation 3, with practically photo-realistic graphics.  The development team behind this monster is Evolution Studios and it there will be at least 35 different vehicles to choose from to kick up dirt.  This gut-wrenching game is supposed to be a launch title for the PlayStation 3.  If you would like to read more about MotorStorm, or if you want to see its latest  screenshots from this upcoming game, check out our coverage.

Pokemon Diamond and PearlThe official website for Pokemon Pearl and Pokemon Diamond is now online. The only downside is that it is in Japanese. Whether it is in Japanese or not, it still shows that our beloved Pokemon series is getting a step closer to releasing its next instalment of the already-massive franchise. To make things even better, Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl will have WiFi features.

You may already reserve your copy of the Japanese game, which will be due out in September, as there is yet to be a date announced for an American release of the game. Hopefully it wont be too long. If you would like to find out more information about Pokemon Diamond or Pearl, you can read our up to date coverage [Here].

4. Clear Round 21 - Clear round 21.
