Who says I only got games on my PSP?RC8 of Winnydow's XviD4PSP 4.048 updates... well updates a lot. Better bitrates, bug cleanups and tweaks, code cleanups, updated patches, more and more. Still the same objective, which is to convert your video files so that it can be played at an optimal format by your PSP.

We've decided to leave the changelog below, in case you're interested, because it's one heck of a list, but if you've got 4.048 R6 and liked it, you could do no better than to update/upgrade to R8.

Dont forget: like the previous updates, you'll need the latest .Net frameworks to make this program run.

 » What are the advantages?

what are the advantages of signing up w/ QJ? the whole point to sing up for forums and such websites is to post comments and reply answers. But here we don't even have to register. I know it seems kind of random to put this here but im just curious...

» Look elsewhere if you're not a transcoding expert

This program is a front-end to several underlying en/de/transcoding utilities, and requires extensive knowledge of parameters and configurations for things like ffdshow, virtualdub, and avisynth. Unless you're willing to install, de-install, and configure many many many settings (with the knowledge of what you're doing), then don't use this program.
If you're looking for a graphical program that will allow you to convert your existing movies/avis/dvds to run on your PSP, and expect to only do a few clicks each time, look elsewhere such as WinXMedia. I don't have any affiliation with any of these programs. I've just wasted way too many hours trying to get this thing working.

 » What!

This is Pretty Simple for What it Does (assuming you're literate) There are pre-set profiles for just about everything you could want to encode into. And if your willing to take the risk, make your own custom AVS script (profile).

   Re: Dir (Unregistered) - 2007-01-17
 » Exactly!

Making custom AVS scripts and having to tweak the pre-set profiles depending on the source material is NOT my idea of a simple program. Selecting the source file/disc, selecting whether you want full resolution/large filesize or smaller-res/smaller filesize, then hitting 'Convert' is my idea of all this program needs to do. Hackers, coders, and scripters may enjoy mucking around with avs scripts, but 99% of the population doesn't.

This guy needs to learn sometimes its better not to release updates just for the sake of it
Even microsoft doesn't have RC8's!!!

u dumb or something? dont tell me microsoft has never released an update for a program. course microsoft doesnt have rc8. but winnydow's not microsoft...

 » Its good to update

As a heavy encoder updates are never a bad thing. There are always updates to the encoder especially x264.exe. The fact that he i updating means that he cares about his creation and the users. Any problem that exist he trys to fix and he adds new features to it all the time. I admit its not the easiest program to use. But it sure beats going to command line and doing all the stuff by hand. This programs video is better than anyother programs output due to the fact it uses the latest binarys of x264.exe (the best free h.264 encoder on the market)

   Re: MickMog - 2007-01-17
 » agreed here

not a coder or into encoding but if the man wants to perfect what hes made + theres users wanting his updates then whay not?
would you complain if Dark_Alex brought a ps2 emulator for psp update out? or any sorta update....i know i trust his work + update whatever the new additions are.
just my opinion tho, im sure a few agree tho

 » why?

Why has he released so many RCs? whats the importance of these tiny updates. Surely it would make sence of having each of these as a full release. The change log from 4047 to 48 is huge compared to normal!

 » athlon patch

is the athlon patch also for athlon 64s?

   by winnydows (Unregistered) - 2007-01-17
» athlon RC and other sh*t

If mencoder crash on your cpu - yes.
I don`t r post RC to QJ.
RC need for find and fix bugs amd exlude this bugs from final version.
Microsoft don`t have XviD4PSP, so don`t have RC8.
RC9 exists now.
Release test RC much better than release full each day.
And as I sad before - don`t like it - don`t use it - and fock you.
