The new year's starting off on a decidedly rough note for World of Warcraft's PvP scene, it seems.
Crepe over at the WoW forums reports that the MMORPG's Battlegrounds have recently been experiencing connections issues which were making them difficult to access for players. Quoting Crepe's statement:
I spoke with a GM and sometime during this past evening, BGs went down for multiple battlegroups. Since then, people have been becoming stuck in them and have had difficulty rezzing and difficulty joining and leaving them.
They're working on the issue at this time but do not have an ETA as to when they'll clear the issue.
Blizzard's blue-texter Tyren passed by the thread later to say that updates would be coming as soon as they assessed the situation. Now, in case you found this message a little too late and have a sprite stuck in the likes of Alterac Valley, Crepe was also kind enough to post a short guide on how you can exit the BG:
If you become stuck in a BG, open a ticket and a GM can help you exit it. I've also been able to exit a BG by typing /AFK. It took several minutes for the instance server to recognize that command when I did so. Others have reported success by logging out and back in, but this has not proven successful for everyone.
No other updates were announced by Blizzard regarding this current issue. Stay alert in case the situation changes.
