Heads up to the Wii homebrew community! Nintendo has released a new system menu update for the Nintendo Wii, and by the look of things, this one's not gonna be pretty. According to reports, almost everything is blocked by the new system menu including Bannerbomb, BootMii, the Homebrew Channel and all version of cIOS. The recently released Indiana Pwns works but you cannot do much with it. The new update now also uses IOS70. All the versions of BC, MIOS and the chain store are also updated. We strongly suggest not to update your Wii through Nintendo if you still want to enjoy your homebrews. Related article: |

Eh, this doesn't effect me whatsoever, i have like a ton of games i can still play, phantom brave will eat up SOOO much time and i'm still gotta go though my second playthough of tales of symphonia 2.
only a matter of time till its patched. nintendo underestimates our Homebrew coders.

"This update provides behind-the-scenes fixes that will not affect features but will improve the overall system performance."
Translation: NOTHING has changed but increased security for nintendo's profits.
"Because unauthorized modifications to save data or program files may impair game play or the Wii console, updating to Wii Menu version 4.2 will also check for and automatically remove such save data or program files."
Gee, thanks for the favor, worthless nintendo! Comes with the standard issue LIE to justify unethical manipulating of peoples systems and files.
Let's see if nintendo can forcefully remove my mod chip and send everyone with backed up games to jail! HA HA!
Homebrew is the ONLY thing that makes a Wii worth having.

Oh really? You don't play any games on yours at all besides homebrew? None, none at all?
Although yes, their updates notes are such a joke. I mean, at least be straight with people. I'd laugh if it turns out the update is so strict it breaks something else.

» BootMii and HBC update safe the day
For those of you who are interested, Team Twiizers has already taken actions against this update.
A new BootMii installer has been released and you can protect yourself to most of the issues by updating your homebrew channel (press 1 on your wiimote in the hbc).
