Ghostbusters video game of first, second films unveiled - Image 1Not long ago, Zootfly, a Slovenian video game studio, released a number of videos depicting a Ghostbusters game in prototype form. The game was often rumored to be in development for the Xbox 360, although the rumors did eventually die.

Why, you ask? It turns out that Zootfly were no longer developing the Ghostbusters game, because another company purchased the Ghostbusters intellectual property from Sony Pictures. That company was Universal Pictures, if Dan Aykroyd's Blues Brothers interview with Edmonton Sun is to be believed.

Now the news is ringing out that Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Bill Murray will be on board for more than just voice acting. In fact, reports are coming in that all three will also take up writing roles for the video game's plot. That's interesting considering that both Ramis and Aykroyd wrote both movies.

And here's the real winner: it's not an Xbox 360-only title. The game is going multiplatform, since its been reported that the Ghostbusters video game will arrive on the PC, Sony PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Microsoft Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii. Now everybody would be a winner if only someone could get Aykroyd to make another movie.
