Vampire Rain - Image 1If you have a knack for hunting down creatures of the night, you'll be thrilled to learn that the sequel to last year's vampire-busting action title Vampire Rain has been announced. Japan's AQ Entertainment and developer Artoon have confirmed that Vampire Rain: Altered Species is in the works for the Sony PlayStation 3.

Vampire Rain: Altered Species  will use stealth-heavy action mechanics set in a suburban, west coast city in the U.S. where vicious creatures called Nightwalkers prowl the unholy hours in search for fresh blood. Their victims are sometimes found dead, but in worse cases, the night's meal providers turn into vampires themselves and join the Nightwalker army.

Gamers take the role of John Lloyd, a member of a U.S. special government unit created to defeat the Nightwalkers, and the only human to ever survive a physical encounter with them. Using knowledge and combat skills, you'll be fighting a war that will determine the fate of the human race.

Artoon has promised a riveting single player campaign as well as a multiplayer mode that they described as a "robust" one. We'll keep you posted for more news on this one.
