vote! - Image 1Well, it's been a hectic run up to the competition deadline, we had a flurry of submissions in the final days and some dramatic last minute heroics to get some entries eligible.

Featured below is a complete list of the eligible entries, including links to our coverage. The amazing homebrew developers have done their part, now it's the community's turn. Please don't take things lightly, there's a decent amount of money at stake (three hundred smackers) so please, take the time to download the entries and have fun with them, then come back here and vote to make your opinion count.

You can vote for an entry by utilising the poll on the right hand side of this page ----->

- NOTE: Polls close on Friday the 19th at 11:59pm PST.

- Please remember to go through the respective readme's thoroughly before installing any homebrew on your PSP's.

QJ would like to thank the crazy talented devs in the homebrew community for making this contest possible, good luck to all of you folks, and may the best entry win!

 » this

this is a LOT of money
be careful for who you're voting for
who do you want to win

i tried all and NervOS is reallygood
its a whole shell

THOUGH

i will think more and vote =)

   Re: joseph10444 - 2008-09-15
 » wow

i voted for the alarm thing
cause it was useful
lol it woke me up at night so i can remember to do late homework

and it worked!!

anyways it is a cool program

and when i voted it seemed that most ppl voted it too...

wow!

Right now it looks like NervOS is in a big lead.

Pirata_Nervo, IMO you deserve the $300!

personally i didnt like any of them

most of them is the same old dribble, alarm clocks shells etc

im totally against shells, i have a nice clean xmb

but if i have to vote it will be for

Ultra
2d side scroller
or
the shell

purely because they actually put effort into a decent and useable homebrew

   Re: emcp - 2008-09-15
 » mmm

actually

mega drops doesnt seem to bad, but then again its another tetris game, one of the better ones though

anyway any candidate that did not provide
a screenshot deserves to be put out

videos should get extra points

   Re: coolguy5678 - 2008-09-16
 » About videos

Videos should only earn extra points if normal screenshots are still provided, because:

a) Screenshots use up less bandwidth, and some people have monthly limits
b) Videos taken with a video camera are of lower quality than screenshots taken from within the program itself. (videos taken by other means don't qualify here)

I agree that shells are a waste of time, unless, of course, they're better than the XMB, which would be impressive.

Mega Drops is significantly different from Tetris; from what I can see from the video, it's more like Lumines, not that I've played either Mega Drops or Lumines.

I like RealTech-VR alot, but I hope they don't win, it's not like they need any extra cash..

 » alarm.

i voted the alarm suite, because it was something ive always wanted my psp to do and now it does. everything about it works so well and it visually looks amazing and professional.

Show some protest and vote for "stop at 1000" teee heee!

Yeah obviously I'm pretty much against public voting as that is largely biased. I can imagine some entrants just spam their facebook (or whatever) buddies to vote for them while other entrants hope for a fair competition. Professional and unbiased judging ftw!

or since you don't need to login to vote, just vote, erase cookies, vote, erase cookies... would do it. or do they have IP checking?

The decision isn't entirely affected by Public Votes Right?

Because that would be bad.

   Re: Ruj89 - 2008-09-16
 » agree

I think it's only affected by public votes, and I agree you, it's bad. For the next competition I hope everyone writes his own decision on a thread, only for registered account

   Re: mistr305 - 2008-09-16
 » My question is...

Are there any internal judges to Manually review entries?
   by Da_MerV - 2008-09-16
» No one has mentioned TruPhoto!

Take a look, it can't really be that bad!

by huked on foniks - 2008-09-16
 » Lol at all these

I see nothing that really appeals to me.... If "age of nations" is a qualifier, then it's a bad sign. (played it and wow)

IMO, this contest is probably fail.... To be honest, it's just a waste of money. People already working on their projects found this an opportunity to make a little cash. I doubt this really instigated anyone to jump up and say "HEY! I'm making a homebrew game for the QJ competition!!"

I just voted for NervOS cus everyones saying its good.

   Re: daaa57150 - 2008-09-16
 » yes

that's the only way to participate in a contest, because thay usually give you a month and think great things will come out of it. seriously, I'm working on my game since a year and a half. I worked that given time only to have a game that looks like a finished one (menus + such).
but with public voting that's not necessarily true, you can get quite a lot of votes with anything ;)
