Unreal Tournament 3 - Image 1

Good news for Unreal Tournament fans with a Sony PlayStation 3 in their living rooms - the Sony PS3 version of Epic GamesUnreal Tournament 3 (also for Xbox 360 and PC) has recently gone gold, and is now on its merry way to being made copies out of. If things go as planned, we may be fragging each other in glorious next-gen graphics come December 11. Sweet!

This news comes directly from Epic Games' Mark Rein, via a news post on the game's official blog. He revealed that the company had just received word from Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) that yes, the Sony PS3 version of Unreal Tournament 3 has been given the green light for release, with the master copy sent to North America for manufacturing.

For those of us in PAL territories, fret not, because it won't be long before localized versions of Unreal Tournament 3 start popping up in store shelves over there. Mark Rein's news post, verbatim:

My guess is that Midway will start shipping the title to North American retailers on Monday December 10th and it could show up in stores as early as December 11th but more likely toward the middle of that week.

For PAL territories, specifically UK and Europe, we have a few localization-related tasks to complete and then we should be starting the certification process pretty soon. My best guess is early next year (January or February) for the game to ship over there.

Definitely good news indeed. Here's to some sweet FPS action this holiday season.

Th Uk was always considered out of the European union in the gaming industry, it due to UK parental rating system...

Nevertheless, if the US version works with a UK ps3 then problem solved! Anyone care to confirm this?

I can't seem why Midway can't sort the localisation-related tasks and start the certification process earlier for Europe (oh, and the UK!)? Makes no sence to me. That's my rant over with anyway. Still, I can't wait to be slaughtered by 12-year-olds lol.

Yeah, its better to wait for the pal version, this way we can get as much feedback for the game as possible before we buy it...I quess waiting a bit is not so bad if you think about it...

Anyway cant wait for my copy of Uncharted to arrive!

hey has anyone played MAss effect? How is it? My brother is getting it next week, and I'll be swiching between uncharted and Mass effect, is gonna be a hell of a week!
