When you've been waiting for a game like the UK version of Rock Band, any word regarding the game's release date is welcome. Granted, it's been the subject of rumor before, but this time, it's official: MTV Games, Harmonix and Electronic Arts have scheduled the Xbox 360 version for a UK release on May 23.

The three companies, however, have noted that the PS3 and the Wii versions of Rock Band are slated for a release during the summer. Furthermore, the songs that have been made available for purchase and download in the US will also be made available in the UK starting May 27. In the case of the Xbox 360, each song will cost 160 Microsoft Points.

According to MTV Games, Harmonix and EA, the European version of Rock Band will feature nine new tracks spanning German, French and UK hits:

1. Blur “Beetlebum” (English)
2. Oasis “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star” (English)
3. Tokio Hotel “Monsoon” (English)
4. Muse “Hysteria” (English)
5. Les Wampas “Manu Chao” (French)
6. Playmo “New Wave” (French)
7. Die Toten Hosen “Hier Kommt Alex” (German)
8. Juli “Perfekte Welle” (German)
9. H-Block X “Countdown to Insanity” (German)
