It was revealed on the Wii Virtual Console website that Hudson's Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair will be released this December 17. The game will be offered for 800 Wii Points and should provide gamers with a very interesting change of pace from other games.

Perhaps the most distinctive feature in the game is that each level is split into two parts, an action and shooter scene. In the action scene, players have to guide their character into a dragon gate at the end of the map much like any platformer. The shooter scene, however, has you flying around on the back on the pink dragon much like side-scrolling shoot-em-up games.

Fans of retro-games should consider picking up this game when it becomes available. The unique challenge presented by this title might be exactly what you've been looking for.
