PS3

Just giving guys a very gentle reminder: Toys "R" Us is holding PS3 and Wii pre-orders tomorrow! In just a few hours, their fleet of toy retail stores will be opening their doors, and for those of you who missed out on your chance to pre-order at EB, this is another opportunity to reserve either a Wii or a PS3 for a 50-buck down payment.

You might wanna phone your closest store first - reports are coming in from as far South as Culver City, California, or as far North as Portage, Michigan, that dozen of gamers have decided to brave the elements, DS/PSP in hand to wait it out for their chance at pre-ordering these systems. Looks like neither rain, nor sleet, no snow (or the biting cold) are gonna be stopping the fans from trying.

Toys 'R Us is guesstimated to release 12 to 25 Wii (0 USD), four to ten PS3 60GB (0 USD), and one to four PS3 20GB ($USD 600) per store, so expect tomorrow's forecast to be...stormy.

As we've told the guys who've bloodied their noses a few weeks ago at the Canadian front of this pre-order hotzone:  Godspeed, campers. To give you guys reading this an idea of what's going on, here're some pics:

 » not a bad amount

Thats nto a bad amount of PS3's. Some shops were told they would only get a minimum of 2, but toys r us gets a min of 5 and a max of 14. Not bad at all. Anyway all those people waiting outside have no life. I remember when I pre-ordered my nintendo wii, all i did was go into my local HMV and I was number 2 on the list. My mate was number one:)

also shows how little demand the wii has compared to the ps3. I guess thats the difference between the consoles.
for the wii, people are willing to wait, but for the ps3, people can't wait and just have to be first.

PS3 FTW!!

I went to my local Toys "R" Us two hours hearly. I thought that was being cautious enough, considering it was just a pre-order. Nope. People camped out overnight, lining up as early as 1pm Saturday afternoon. All PS3 orders (8) were gone by 1pm Saturday, and all Wii orders (20) were gone by 4pm Saturday.

 » 2nd wave

Yeah, if you read in other sections, or the news, or check w/ retailers basically any source out there. The 1st order of wii's sold out, and this one probably will too.
I think Wii is in alot better standings than PS3. Why? Sony was quick to announce that the PS3 1st wave sold out. Go figure when you consider each retail had only 2-5 unit anyways. Retailers had about 20 Wii 1st wave, and the all sold out. Which company has more $$$ promised to them? Nintendo!!! Not to mention the Wii has made several retailers Christmas hot list, not the PS3.

 » I GOT MINE

I GOT MINE today, just finished camping out in Toys R Us in NYC TIMES SQUARE!!! WOOOP... but anyways, supposedly the Toys R Us in times square had like 100 ps3s for pre order (lol i know that sounds a lil farfetched but look where its at, NYC in TIMES SQUARE). I was 24th in line :) and in the paper they gave me to take to the cashier said #92 and it counted down so im guessing that this Toys R Us had like 115+ or so...THATS CRAZY :)

ps. oh it had like a whooole bunch of wiis, i THINK i saw a paper that a guy had that said #488 so meaning that it was counting down from that and thats a shyt load of wiis

 » Why....

I might not get one on the day of release, but I will still have one, being first is not that important, besides after XMAS its like the 360, they will be everywhere.
