Perhaps the inevitable response to the suspiciously low 6.3 user rating LittleBigPlanet got on Metacritic was the review bombing Gears of War 2 got at the hands of angry PS3 fanatics. Taking advantage of Metacritic's inability to react to the situation before their upcoming site redesign, over a thousand vengeful gamers bombarded the yet-to-be released 360 title with deliberately low user ratings. Even as i write this article, Gears of War 2's user rating is now at 2.5 and will likely drop further in the coming days. So what does this bode for the rest of us? Well, I seriously doubt anyone's going avoid buying either game based on an obviously manufactured user rating (and if they do, they deserve to miss Gears 2 or LBP anyway). All that's happened is that some crazies demonstrated they have the impulse control of a four-year old. While Metacritic's user reviews are useless to the rest of us for a little while, there's always the Metascore from "real" critics as Marc Doyle, the founder of Metacritic, pointed out in his post on the user comments section of each game's page. At least you all could've done a better job at burying Little Big Planet, the one game beside Metal Gear Solid 4 that has all you xbots salivating, but yet you will NEVER see it on the junkbox 360. M$ should have realized that their hardware was obsolete before the release date as it could never handle that kind of rendering and calculation.

Umm... actually, Sony did give us in-game XMB, Killzone 2 is underway (the beta has already been released).
The list of things that Sony has said they will deliver are being delivered.

I don't know.. Having great graphics is nice.. but I still go back to my NES and SNES to play those games. Sure, my television remote may be more technologically advanced than a SNES, but you know what? Having great technology behind a game or system doesn't make it good. It all comes down to the game. I don't own a PS3. I own a Wii and a 360. I love The Godfather on my Wii.. and I love Dead Rising on my 360. If I had a PS3 I would be all over MGS4. It's all about the game!

You're right. Gameplay and plot. I loved Ocarina of Time, the first game I actually beat. I also liked Megaman 64 and Goldeneye 007. More modernly, I am in deep love with Dead Rising (although this game has beautiful graphics with the ugliest main character in the history of gaming) and World of Warcraft!

I can't believe people are actually doing this. I mean, seriously, this is about as pointless as it gets. Neither game is available to about 99% of the gaming industry(I say 99% because of the LBP copies being sold that aren't supposed to be, and 360 modded console gamers that already have GOW2), and these gamers flock to this site to try and drive the score down. I guess I just don't forsee it working. Both LBP and GOW2 are projected top-shelf titles for their respective systems. Hence overall, they tend to balance out, where the Cell processor will be better for some games, the 360's CPU (Xenon) will be better for others, and both about the same for the remainder.
Regarding the 360 being maxed out. This is pure nonsense coming from someone who clearly has NO idea about technology. NEITHER the 360 or the PS3 is maxed out, not even close, and NO console is ever maxed out before the end of their typical life span because developers are always learning about the hardware, and therefore ALWAYS find ways to squeeze more out of the same console.
Regarding Blu-ray and DVD. Blu-ray's strengh is it's hugh capacity per disc, however compared to the DVD drive in the 360, it's much slower, hence so many PS3 games require a HDD install to improve load times. So again, there are pros and cons to each.
And there are arguements to put forward regarding the pros and cons of the 360 and PS3's GPUs, RAM, HDD as standard or optional, the controllers, online support, resolution and so on.
So kimdrummel, I am more than happy to discuss the pros and cons of BOTH consoles (with mature gamers) without resorting to childish insults against the hardware and companies and without feeling the need to take sides. Can you do the same?

Yes LBP certainly deserves more than 6.3, and Gears 2 deserves more than 2.8, but we know that from the REAL reviews scores (coming soon for GEoW2), i.e. we know that from the scores that count. User scores doesn't matter because user bias and score sabotage makes them totally worthless for judging a game. The ONLY people who take user scores seriously are fanboys!

Yes LBP certainly deserves more than 6.3, and Gears 2 deserves more than 2.8, but we know that from the REAL reviews scores (coming soon for GEoW2), i.e. we know that from the scores that count. User scores doesn't matter because user bias and score sabotage makes them totally worthless for judging a game. The ONLY people who take user scores seriously are fanboys!

As I said above, Cell is superb for what it was designed for, and in terms of on paper floating-point performance, is ahead of PC CPUs. However it's general processing performance is not as good in comparison, which is why Apple rejected Cell for it's own computers and left IBM for Intel instead.
The power of any machine is the sum of it's parts (CPU, GPU, RAM, HDD, Audio etc), and in this respect, the PC is far more powerful than the 360 and PS3, and has been for quite some time. But of course, there's a price to be paid for such power, and hence consoles offer a far greater power to cost ratio compared to PCs, i.e. more power per dollar.
And no, the 360 is not dead or dying (I've heard that for YEARS about PC gaming and it's still going strong). The 360 is doing very well in the market, especially when you consider that before both consoles were launched, almost everyone expected the PS3 to surpass 360 sales within a few years, and yet here we are almost 3 years later and the PS3 is still 5-6 million behind.
Both the 360 and PS3 are superb games consoles, the PC is also a superb platform for gaming, so I'm going to disagree with anyone attacking the other unfairly. :)

I'm happy with the hardware that 360 has for now. I don't give a flying ***** if I got RROD. 1-3 weeks on repair so what? If you cant wait that long, you need to get out more or spend time on that g/f of yours that wanted to be f-u-cked right now.

I love my 360 but I got to admit, the hardware does + fail. And for it costing what it does, it is not very reliable. Imagine if you bought a laptop with such *****ty hardware.
I got RROD 6 times since I got my first one. My most recent problem happened 4 hours after unboxing. lol.

First of all I'm not a fanboy of either console and I own both so with that out of the way I actually find this very amusing.
I asume the people that actually first of all cared enough to downrate a game that has already had enough preorders to outsell littlebigplanet do not own an xbox360 since if they did and are over 18 chances are they would buy the game themselves.
I am going to get both littlebigplanet and gears of war 2 as I like the creativity of littlebigplanet and I enjoyed Gears of War alot.
The whole argument about which console is best stems from people either not being able to get both or feeling some kind of loyalty to a company that only has a single goal.... to make money whilst taking control of a part of a marketplace.
Both Sony and Microsoft honestly couldnt care less about it's consumers so long as they are spending money on thier products so do not get this dumb idea that sony love you or microsoft respect you. You can argue Microsoft care because they have given more downloadable content or "better games" but they only have one reason to try and draw you into buying thier products and that is because you have money and they want it. Neither company are a acharity and therefore thier focus is taking your money and giving you whatever will get that cash out of your pocket and into thier company.
With that said Gears of War 2 will sell insanely well because it has so much going for it and even if they only build on gears of war it will still be an incredible game. So what was acheived by giving it a poor rating.... simple, you wasted your time whilst those "xbox fanboys" you hate so much were sat playing xbox live and having a great time. Also those same "xbox fanboys" wasted thier time downrating littlebigplanet as it will also sell well and the time spent downrating it was also wasted time that playstation fans probably spent playing MGS4.
My point is both consoles have some exlusives and both give a good service. In all honesty I probably play my xbox a little more since at this moment in time the only exclusives that the playstation has that I still play is MGS4. Sony in all honesty have missed what made the PS2 such a HUGE sucsess which was it had a stupid amount of games to choose from and alot of very good exclusives. Microsoft however risked a loss of confidence by rushing out a system plagued with red light issues but in doing so got ALOT of games out and earned some awesome exclusives. For this reason alone I think the xbox is "winning" the "console war" since they have more games to offer and at the end of the day I buy a gaming machine to play games, not dvds or bluerays, games!
Before xmas xbox360 will get gears of war 2 and has just got fable 2 and has alot in line to be released next year.
Before xmas PS3 will get littlebigplanet and hasnt had anything with wow factor recently. It also has alot of exclusives coming next year but for myself not alot to choose from. God of War and maybe getaway 3 will be the only exclusives I'm interested in since Gran Turismo is visually awesome but I think lacking in gameplay and I've never been a big fan of final fantasy.
Sony are a great console maker but this time around they have focused too much on making "the better technical machine" and missed out on the point that games and a good price sells consoles, not a fancy blueray player and the promice that thier console can make things look better (especially when its such a small difference that you dont notice it unless you actually spend time looking for it).

sony said they wont cut the price of the ps3 as "theres no point" seriously an interview on the bbc technoligy program a sony spokesman said theres no point as customers prefer quality as to quanity, erm the xbox360 1st came out it was 300 bucks where as the ps3 came out in the uk it was £599 (roughly 99) now the xbox is £130-£250 depending on what package you get AND you get between 1-5 games FREE with it, where as the ps3 gives you NO GAMES and there starting price is £250.
the whole point of the xbox over taking sony on there home ground is because of a lil thing known as a "keeping the customers happy", currently the xbox is selling 3:1 ratio in europe and this goes higher in china, japan etc where it goes 5:1 and the use its 3:1, add em up the xbox is selling 11:3 thats a big ass sale because the xbox compnants are getting cheaper to make meaning microsoft are passing on the savings.
sony on the other hand dont, there compnants are being made cheaper but because of the blu-ray starting to go sour due to sony making demands on ppl that want to manufacture its slowly dying a slow painfull death.
i work for a company that asked sony if we could make blu-ray drives for the pc and well, sony wanted a £20 million insurance policyalong with a legal disclosure that prevents us from making our own style of blu-ray drive, sony is making companys sign contrects where they get nearly 50% of the money created from the blu-ray sales, sony has got so many patents on the blu rays is impossible to make it for ourself.
microsoft, all they want is a deal to say that if you make it they get first dibs on using it...pure n simple.
microsoft unlike sony goto companys offer money for exclusive content and / or exclusive games.

the xbox costs 100 bucks cheaper. yeah. but to get wi-fi (which i want), the wireless adapter is $100. plus xbox live which is $60 a year. in short, it's $60 more expensive than what you get with the ps3 for free.
the xbox can indeed connect to a pc, but, you can install an OS to the ps3, and it is called Linux. so, instead of connecting to your Windows Media all the time, you can just boot up thr ps3 to Linux and then do some OpenOffice or whatnots.
MOST people don't want to play ps2 games on the ps3. they rather play MGS4 than MGS3, right? i don't know about you. lol.

PSN+ full movies, tv shows, music videos, arcade games, exclusive DLC, downloadable demos, retail games, theatrical and game trailers. (Yes, you missed out ALOT).
the xbox costs 100 bucks cheaper. yeah. but to get wi-fi (which i want), the wireless adapter is $100. plus xbox live which is $60 a year. in short, it's $60 more expensive than what you get with the ps3 for free.
the xbox can indeed connect to a pc, but, you can install an OS to the ps3, and it is called Linux. so, instead of connecting to your Windows Media all the time, you can just boot up thr ps3 to Linux and then do some OpenOffice or whatnots.
MOST people don't want to play ps2 games on the ps3. they rather play MGS4 than MGS3, right? i don't know about you. lol.
