Airlines have taken the opportunity to show off the latest In flight comfort and entertainment at the Airline Interior Expo in Hamburg earlier this month. The likes of Airbus and Boeing showed off their new interiors, and latest In-Flight technology there. Here's a short summary of what was on show at the Expo:
- Airbus a350 - A business minidesk in the corner of the cabin. Seats for more than 300 passengers across 3 levels. Those in business class will also benefit from a ceiling that changes to different skyscapes. Due for launch in 2010
- Boeing 787 Dreamliner - Features an on-board wireless IFE (in-flight entertainment system), and LED lighting thats simulates either daylight or night time.
- Contour Premium aircraft seating - A new seat for business class. The "Solar" seat can be a 6-foot 3-inch long bed with up to 31-inches
of space at the shoulders. It also has a fully integrated in-flight
entertainment system, in-seat power for portable entertainment devices
and, of course, a massage feature, which I'm sure will be a big hit on long-haul flights.
And much, much more, including a Portable Media Player for flights that includes a 60GB Hard drive.
