Screenshot of SwirlyMMS iPhone homebrew app - Image 1One of the biggest frustrations of Apple's iPhone is its inability to send MMS picture messages. It's sometimes a lot easier to settle for the third-party alternative, one of which is the SwirlyMMS homebrew application.

With a new build just recently released (version 1.2), SwirlyMMS essentially allows you to send MMS messages, complete with images, to other mobile phones. It currently works on the latest 2.x firmware and has been confirmed to work on the iPhone 3G as well.

However, before you can use SwirlyMMS you have to make sure that you request your iPhone's MMS settings from your service provider or from any of the major cell phone manufacturer. After which, an MMS service plan subscription must also be secured to ensure that you can MMS messages through your iPhone.

The latest downloadable version of SwirlyMMS on Cydia only includes a demo license for the app and must be purchased if you want to enjoy the full benefits of MMS message sending on your mobile phone. The full version is priced at US$ 8, with the transaction conducted through a secure connection via Paypal.
