Square Enix Yoichi Wada - Image 1It looks like Square Enix is going global now, with Square Enix's global president Yoichi Wada scoping out Europe to check out how the gaming industry is faring in the region and to check on the performance of other gaming companies.

Aside from making games with the Western market in mind, Wada also confirmed that they may also establish studios in the Western part of the world, much like Sega's Sega Racing Studio. Here's what he had to say about their plans:

The European market is of course very big as it is, but it has great potential for growth as well. So I would like Square Enix to be stronger in this particular market. One of the purposes of this visit is to get a better grasp of what's going on in this market at the moment, and also to find out about the other main players, and how they're doing.

Aside from the Western regions, Wada also recognized the value of Asia, especially with China where their online games are doing fairly well. However, he did say that their strategy for Asia will be a bit different compared to the approach that they will take for the Western regions.

SE use to be all about focusing their power into amazing games. Now it seems they're becoming more like EA and just trying to stuff their pants with as much moolas as they can get their hands on.

Companies expand over time, it's not like SE is not trying to put their heart into their games or anything. Companies need money to grow, and prosper. It's like humans won't settle for a substandard life, they always seek ways on how to improve their lives. That's just how it is.

Your a fool, you do know it takes lots of money in this day and age to make great games. Look at MGS4, it took them alot of millions to make the game, and needs to get alot of money off launch day to gain back on the development costs.

SE has always pushed for great titles and it shows, and i can't say they never delivered on that.

To make more titles and make them appear quicker they need to expand and make more money, just the way life is nowadays, especially game industry.
