spark logoSpark Unlimited, noted for its WWII Call of Duty: Finest Hour, is currently developing a project for next-gen consoles. The project's title, plot and genre is not yet named. But the company did say it is going to be based on a new intellectual property, will have a modern setting, and is expected to ship sometime next year. The game will be developed with Sierra Entertainment (F.E.A.R, Miami Vice, Scarface: The World Is Yours). More details will be released by the end of the year.

With the agreement, Spark Unlimited now has two projects. Earlier this year the company hooked up with Atari for a new game that will hit store shelves this coming holiday season. No details about the Spark-Atari deal has surfaced since.

 » Modern = win

I'm getting very tired of futuristic, historic, fantasy, and supernatural games. It seems like those are all that anyone is interested in making these days, and shows a lack of imagination.

If "modern" here means what I think it means (present day realism) then PS3 developers seem to be getting on the right track. The Heavy Rain demo from E3 is another good example.
