Playstation 3 - Image 1A Financial Times article reported that Sony may incorporate a media download service for both music and video content, in an effort to step up the PlayStation 3's image as a multimedia player. Sony chief executive Sir Howard Stringer also revealed  that Sony is working on improving the communication between the PlayStation devices, most probably between the PSP and PS3. Stringer explained:

We are trying to get our devices to talk to each other efficiently. PlayStation Network should migrate from gadget to gadget. But initially it starts with PlayStation devices and then to TV and beyond. That's the goal.

It should be noted that the PS3 was just lauded as the Best Gadget of the Year 2007 due to its multimedia device potential. T3 Awards, the award-giving body which granted the prestigious title, also gave special mention to the PS3's TV tuner.

Stringer wasn't able to give a timeframe for the project. "We won't know how effective [the effort] is until early next year," he said.

» hummm, from things on november?

In november, the PSN will update to PSN 2.0, so maybe some of those things will pop up there? Or maybe they wanna implement it directly into "home", so still in november, with the open beta of Home? Anyway, I suppose it's gonna be in november, lol. It's good to know since sony own a lot of movie and music studios! :D (sony BMG and Sony pictures have great titles)

 » hmmm...

I don't see a lot of improvements from a 1.93 to a 2.0... maybe yes maybe not... maybe it will be more than 2.0 anyway, if they add this with the connectivity of the PSP and now the PSP can be output to a TV... you can have this on the PS3 in your TV.. on the go and in a friend house... it will be really cool if they do that... maybe thats why they are worked so much in the copyright thing... anyway I will not download a movie ala itunes because english isn't my languaje... I really want if they have a option to download it with subtitles... it will work to a wide niche if they do that and something different from everyone else
