PlayStation 3 - Image 1In an effort to increase PlayStation 3 sales even further, Sony Corporation CEO Howard Stringer revealed their three-year business plan, which involves connecting their next-gen PlayStation 3 console to several other devices such as the PSP handheld and mobile phones.

Sony will first concentrate on connecting the PlayStation 3 to the PSP, and then will move on to other devices. Not much has been revealed about how exactly the PlayStation 3 will be connected to mobile phones, however.

This idea was a brainchild of former Sony Corp. CEO Nobuyuki Idei before he was replaced by Stringer.

"Sony planning to connect PS3 to various devices to increase sales"

Thats maximizing potential..........

It shows the PS3 has lots of untapped potential. It can only be a good thing.

   Re: Someone_PR - 2007-12-11
» how can you said that?

more they add to the system it's better... like I said to anyone, if you don't like a feature that sony do new just don't use it because theres someone else will use it... like the parental thing in the 360... many but many people said is useless... but my aunt just bought a 360 because my cousin always is playing no matter what hour or if he need to do homework but now she can control how many and when he will play. That that is a bad thing for the gamer... well yes... but not for the one who will buy the system and thats what is important to the eyes of microsoft...

Like I said.. every update is good... and I love the updates in sony because I love all of them

Although it is sad that your aunt needs a software timer to get her kid away from videogames...

No offence..

Considering the Wii has no decent features or games, who are you to talk?

My head hurts from reading your horrible English.

so wii and xbox also connects to other devices and does improvements mainly on increasing sales, how would they be different? sry but ppl got to stop nailin on sony for stuff almost all companies do, for example "trying to make more money." Besides even though the motive may be for increasing sales, the result could be very beneficial, like wireless headsets during first person shooting games. This may also improve other aspects like new guncon using bluetooth, or new devices to be implemented on games. I actually thought the wii remote could have been better if it relied on motion sensor in the control and bluetooth for connection rather than it's currently quite inaccurate short range point sensor.
Systems sell for lots of things, games are main reasons, features and technology, so on, don't say games alone, cuz that makes u look dumb. It's just like phones, it's mainly for calls, but u buy one with camera or touchscreen, or choose the one with better capabilities even though u only gonna use it for calls.

Even If U Dont Use It Urself Its Always good to see an update thatll add a wider audience. NOW FOCUS ON THE GAMES

Some phone are going to be able to connect with Home, remember at E3.
I wonder if it'll work with all cell phones (even house phones!).

 » Sony's going to have a

Playstation cellphone. It's a standard SE phone that ties into Home. Home is going to be the catalyst for all these products.

 » meh........

I can't see this as something that will make someone buy a ps3,or consider buying a ps3 only cuz it's compatible with their phones, like the 360 is compatible with various devices, yet that's not a reason why someone would buy it,but this is good news 4 ppl who already own a ps3.

They should try connecting with gamers instead of more devices. So far they are doing a really horrible job giving ps3 owners what they want.

   Re: Eclipze_ - 2007-12-12
 » I disagree..

I just got Unreal, cod4, and a whole lot of games so your a dumbas5 if you think that. People are just cant wait for things, and act like there going to STOP making games when they make it compatible with other devices, yet games are still coming out.
Connect 4 *****!
