I wish we would have had that lineup for the US launch. VF5, Oblivion, T:DR, flOw, and MotorStorm means that all those who got screwed over in EU with the late launch will at least get a lot better launch then we did. Also, 1,000,000 units should make it easier to get one at release.

look at it.
You could also say that we in the US got to play with the PS3 b4 Europe...The point is we FINALLY can get really excited about the PS3! Stop being a Debbie Downer.

Yeah well we always get screwed here in Africa with the prices (probably because we have monkeys and we make a lot of money using them...).

So I still have some time to pick up my LCD then...right right - I'll continue to wait patiently (only because Lik-sang got shut down)

 » Expensive!

600€ is just too much...only hardcore fans and early adopters are willing to pay this prize.
First batch will be away in a minute...but then...

 » yeah...ok...em...QJ?

When you say sony have allready released the details you do realise that Sony were talking about midnight GMT and not U.S. You see other parts of the world have what are called 'time zones' and not everyone has the same 'time zone'. So while the american people sleep i am up typing this and it's morning! Amazing a different time of day on the same day!!!

/ gets coat

 » about time

Well all i can say is it's about time sony! Now all we need is some pre-order news and i'll be happy.

 » good line up

enough independant titles for a launch:

ROM
Motostorm
Formula One
Virtual Fighter 5

This should tempt some more buyers, expensive though, should have released the 20gig version , think sonys losing too much money on the cheaper version.

Any comments on what cable it comes with?

 » What ?

And I thought PS3 owners dont play FPS games ?
   by Stu (Unregistered) - 2007-01-25
 » Hrmpf

Well Sony live up to their usual reputation in screwing people out of as much as they can... No cheaper model. Knowing damn well that a 60gb hard drive costs about £5-10 more than a 20gb one...

I shall bebuying a 360 tis spring. At least they had the respect to release a cheaper model. I have no plans to by a PS3 at all. Pc, Wii and 360 is all I need

 » Plenty of stock

Before you worry about stock first read this -

For the love of me I could never why PS3 owners in the US ever made out otherwise.

 » idiots much

you do know the difference with the 60 vs the 20 more than just the hdd size right?
stupido
the problem with a launch of this size is that it's going to cost loads to have a 'reasonable' package... if you want the system, 2 controllers (as you may have at least one friend) and maybe 2 or 3 games you're looking at paying WAY more than 400 quid... and i can't even afford that :(

looks good though, with those games on psn and various internet exploring options - also the linux builds to get to grips with - there's plenty for a ps3 owner to be getting on with.

   Re: comedy - 2007-01-25
 » also...

have you ever noticed that when europe gets shafted with release dates the availability of imports suddenely rises when the euro release is close by?
i have...
also, 600 USD does not equal 425 quid.
   by Tom K. (Unregistered) - 2007-02-12
 » Hmmm...

£425 does seem hefty, but the launch lineup does look good. All them extra features like PSN and Linux tempt me as well.

One thing I have on my mind is the 20GB absentee. I know it seems that Sony extorts money sometimes, but I'd rather be playing with a 60GB capacity. 20GB just doesn't seem enough...

If there are good game bundles with a 60GB, I suppose I could foot the extra cash. We'll have to wait and see.
