Multiplayer is one of the key fetures of the Worms game currently available for iPhone and iPod Touch. Not everyone likes playing with other people, though, and so Team 17 has released a new Worms game on the App Store specifically for those who want none of that multiplayer tomfoolery.

Worms Express is a single-player, on-the-move and direct edition of Worms. It's been stripped of the multiplayer feature and the use of some weapon and game options, but it does come with a cheaper US$ 1 price tag. You can grab it now off the App Store.

The original Worms is also getting updated to version 2.0 with a slew of new features. These include new visual options for 3GS models, Bluetooth multiplayer support, a new single-player Survival mode, in-game replays, and a full music playlist feature so players can use their own favorite tracks from their iPod library.

The free Worms update is expected to be released this month. Team 17 is also working on internet-multiplayer game modes for release in 2010.
