WebFest v1.0 - Image 1 WebFest v1.0 - Image 2

Fancy a bit of oldschool shoot-em-up action with awesome retro wireframe graphics? Then WebFest version 1.0, the highly-addictive shooter from PSP homebrew developer jum, should be right up your alley. Featuring simple visuals reminiscent of that old Star Wars game in the arcades, this little bit of homebrew heaven hearkens back to a simpler time where gameplay ruled - and the fact that it's on the Sony PlayStation Portable makes it all the more worth the download.

So, how does one play WebFest, you ask? Simple. Left and right moves your ship, X fires your weapon, and Triangle unleashes a charge that destroys all enemies on-screen. Note that you can only use the charge when your charge bar is filled - and to do just that, you have to shoot and shoot and shoot. Simple? Yes indeed.

A little note from the developer: The game itself was compiled for Firmware 1.50 on the Sony PlayStation Portable, so it may not work for the Sony PSP Slim & Lite.

WTF... are you 12? It's a direct rip-off of the old Atari VG game, Tempest.

 » Eh, it's fine

But everyone remembers the Star Wars one. It also had vector graphics, which is the only point he was trying to make.

Sprite for sprite, vector graphics -- the whole works. Not a lick of originality, save for the title screen. One hundred percent counterfeit.

 » TEMPEST.. of course...

STAR WARS?! heh.. Arcade history 101.... try some old games.

This is about as close to Star Wars as Burger Time is to Pac-Man.. they share the same graphics's standard. PERIOD

He probably only knows the Star Wars arcade game from his Gamecube bonus disc too.. Oh well :)
