Apple Macbook Air Apple Store - Image 1

Now here's something that would make a lot of prospective buyers happy and some early adopters pissed off: a second look at the Apple Store has revealed that Apple just cut off a good US$ 500 off the price of their best-selling MacBook Air with SSD (Solid State Drive). It's pretty much a nice surprise for those who haven't picked up a MacBook Air but are planning to.

According to a previous price check on the Apple Store, the MacBook Air with SSD cost about US$ 3,098 last month. However, the wafer-thin piece of nicely-crafted computing device suddenly went down to US$ 2,598 - that's quite a big discount.

Apple stated that the price cuts came about because of the price decrease for two major parts of the notebook: the 1.8GHz Core 2 Duo and the 64GB SSD, both of which have received a US$ 100 and US$ 400 price cuts respectively.

We're glad that Apple passes the savings down to the consumers as well, though this also tells us something: while being an early adopter gets you the goods ahead of the rest, it also means you'll get to pay for the gadgets at full price and you'll have to suffer that small twinge of regret every time you find out that your device costs X dollars less than what you have paid for when you got it.

Apple always does this to their customers; it's always better to wait when you're wanting to get an apple product because , inevitably, the price always go down a few months after release.
