SEGA Genesis Collection - Image 1 SEGA Genesis Collection - Image 2

Here are two other SEGA Genesis classics, Sonic the Hedgehog and Sword of Vermillion, both of which are included in the SEGA Genesis Collection along with Golden Axe, Phantasy Star II and Ecco the Dolphin.

At first glance it looks like a very unlikely pair but these two games have more in common than you think. As fast as Sonic the Hedgehog can run, that's how quick you'll be able to reach the end of Sword of Vermillion. It is relatively short, compared to other RPG during that time. They say you can finish the game, in 20 hours, maybe even less. And then there's the fulfilling the prophecy bit. King Erik V son, in the end, fulfills the prophecy of the Malaga fortune tellers. While Sonic, fulfills the prophecy of still being the top hedgehog in all platforms. Okay there isn't such a prophecy, but we had to make the analogy work.

Feel free to dish out seeing blocks jokes while watching Sword of Vermillion and don't hold back on the cheers for Sonic the Hedgehog.

I have shown everyone I know with a psp how to use homebrew (emulators etc), and I know a lot of people know of emulators so whats the point in making trying to squeeze every bit of money out of games that re classics but outdated. A lot of classic collections are coming out and it pisses me off how much they are selling for when any reasonably skilled programmer could recreate one of these games very easily (after making their own very basic sdk of course).

» I prefer this kind of stuff

'cause i have a 2.80,anyway homebrews are wrong except for the ones i can play lol.
Anyway im buying this
Also whats wrong with capitalism Nș3?,i like to program stuff too but come on if theres stuff like this on the market why to bother, is only a few bucks.Shame on you for copying their stuff, shame on Konami for not making a freaking collection with contra. i can only play it on homebrew since my nes is dead and my snes is dusted and shame on Id games for not making a collection with heretic or hexen except for x360.

By the way wheres the Comix zone video? that game totally owns.

 » CRAP! DGEN v1.70 rules!

They should include the arcade versions if they want any chance of selling this "game." Not all the games were available in the arcade, but the ones that were are much better. Golden Axe 1 & 2, Altered Beast, Shinobi 3, Super Thunderblade, Virtua Fighter 2, and even Sonic the Hedgehog (in Japan) were released in the arcade. Virtua Fighter 2 on Genesis? That must have really sucked. I wouldn't be suprised if the disk included DGEN 1.70!

 » Dgen vs. This

Well, I think Dgen is an awesome emulator, but I am not keen on it's current speed. I wish it would play fine at 222mhz to save some battery. They get eaten pretty dam fast, but considering the SEGA Genesis Collection, it will have-to run at 222mhz so it use the standard battery usage.
Unfortunetly though, you would not have nearly as many games and can't add more.

I still plan to buy this and use Dgen at the same time.
Oh yeah, and buying this is supporting the authors ;)

 » Missing the point

You morons that are saying "LOL DGEN IMHO" are really missing the point. Sega don't make any money from you DOWNLOADING ILLEGAL COPIES OF THEIR GAMES.
