More news is coming in from SCEE as David Reeves held a press briefing to herald the upcoming Game Convention event in Leipzig, Germany. The Sony boss said there will be blockbuster announcements when the time comes to put up or shut up.

Reeves said that it was Sony's strategy to spread out their big announcement in all the major gaming regions across the world. He said E3, Game Convention, and the Tokyo Games Show will all see their shares of excitement coming from Sony.

The caveat here is that these "blockbuster announcements" will be most important to the regions hosting the events. That means Leipzig's big announcement should be something that hits closer to home for European PS3 owners.

"We feel now that we have a pattern globally which is E3, Tokyo Games Show and Leipzig – it gives us three bites of the cherry to come out with our announcements," said Reeves. "We cannot tailor all our announcements to July."
