Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has recently reported that total sales of Blu-ray movie discs alone in Europe have already exceeded the one million mark. SCEE linked the brisk sales of the Blu-ray discs to the launch of new titles such as Spider-Man 3 and Die Hard 4.0. 

According to SCEE, the Sony Playstation 3's launch last March proved to be a turning point in European Blu-ray disc sales. Since then, Blu-ray discs have been outselling the HD DVD format at least two-to-one.

While Blu-ray movie discs are selling like hotcakes, so are their game counterparts. In fact, SCEE estimated that the total combined sales for both Blu-ray movie discs and Blu-ray game discs already surpasses twenty one million units.
