Flier - Image 1For those of us eagerly anticipating the release of Nintendo's beat-em-up, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, here's a bit of disconcerting news: it seems that the much-rumored bug that pops up right at the beginning of the game is true. Nintendo is apparently taking steps in order to make known to the public that it's just a minor bug.

This comes from an alleged Nintendo Flier that has popped up online, and which you can see to the right of this article.

From what we can understand from the flier, it seems that the bug itself consists of an error message that pops up when you boot up Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the first time via the Wii Disc Channel.

But that's just a minor letdown though, as you can actually bypass this error screen and play normally from then on. So it's rather like a slight annoyance than a game-crippling issue. Whew.

Until we get confirmation about this bug, however, we'll have to file this one under the rumors category. But it certainly looks credible. Here's hoping that the one-month delay of the NA release of Brawl does away with this bug, if it does exist.

Thanks for actually reading the article and seeing that it doesn't affect anything.

You hang out in the wii forums, too? Kewl.

Also, no, I don't think they'll fix it. There's a month left, and as far as I know, they finish making the first batch like 2 months prior to the release. I think they ship to suppliers like 3 weeks prior to the release date.

wow, im just saying that it should be fixed in the North American one because it will be released at a later time.

Aparently, extensive testing all these months and months of delays didn't detect the bug until now. After all, the error screen appears when the disc BOOTS UP.

I guess Nintendo's too busy making lots of money to be bothered by such quality issues while adding trivial new features like 4 new characters and motion controls to the gamecube game released years before.

First of all, characters are part of what makes smash bros so much fun, and are in no means trivial. second, as far as we know, there aren't any motion controls in brawl. in any case, much more has been done than just character additions. a supposedly very in depth single player mode, a stage builder, customizable contols, wi-fi...the list goes on. I get what you're saaying in regards to it just being the startup screen, but you're uninformed reasoning just makes you sound stupid.

Ok... first of all, no motion controls: the game is designed to be customizable to any controller (i.e. including the gamecube controller and classic controller). While that doesn't rule out auxillary motion controls for the wiimote setup, it still means that motion controls aren't forced on you (as you are kind of suggesting).

Also, we all know that the only reason Nintendo didn't release it on time is because they are working hard to stop wiikeyers from enjoying it.

Finally, they'd better have Ryu or Megaman or a Belmont/Alucard in, or we're gonna have an angry gamer. And you know what angry gamers are capable of (i.e. nothing ;P)

Quite a lot actually. I got my first NES at 8 years old. I have nearly every Nintendo console (except the Wii naturally.) NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Gameboy, DS lite and even the Virtual Boy. I also read up on Nintendo history, they have some past. Like how they basically ran a monopoly during the NES days with third party developers and their exclusivity contracts that didn't give the competition a chance... Totally different story now! Serves them right...

But no, I know nothing, I just make stuff up and hate....

have bugs the new rachet and clank had tons of them but was still fun

Actually I haven't seen any bugs yet and that game wasn't delayed at all. Also it was totally new, not a 3 year old game with trivial tacked-on features and obvious bugs that appear when it boots up.

Sony has talented developers working for them that aren't cheap or lazy. They are willing to do what it takes to make a great game, not a half assed effort because Nintendo fans buy the game anyway.

Your strong hate of the Wii seems to blind you...the game is being built from the ground up, and does not even have motion sensing controls, and it's also just another game in the series...just like Ratchet and Clank, which would sport more added on features to the fun platforming and shooting like improved graphics, different weapons , SIXAXIS, etc. Same goes for SSBB when it gets different characters, stages, and other features too. But anyways, in a old topic, you said you only type to piss Wii fans off, so meh...you're forgettable.
