More information regarding an upcoming game is always welcome, especially if that game is the next installment in Midway Games' Mortal Kombat series. It seems as if this chapter of the series - dubbed Mortal Kombat 8 by the community, will be a little different from previous installments.

The promotional image that you see above reportedly came straight from Midway. It shows what appears to be Sub Zero (with Scorpion's eyes) locked in a contest of wills against the Dark Knight. Storm clouds gathering in the distance help set the mood for this crossover confrontation.

Not surprisingly, Mortal Kombat 8 has purportedly been named "Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe." Although word has it that Midway has already confirmed this, we'll be treating it as a rumor for now until further news reveals otherwise. Stay tuned for more updates as we get them.
