 With NCsoft's Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa beta phase winding to a close, the man behind Tabula Rasa (namely Richard Garriott himself) has recently posted a message on the MMO's official site, not only thanking those who participated but also bringing notice to a special treat he's giving to the players. The post, taken from the website directly and quoted as is:
As a thank you for being part of our wonderful pre-launch community we have a special Thanksgiving reward. AFS recruits who play the beta between October 25th and October 26th, will receive an exclusive in-game emote.
Your characters will receive access to /throat; use it to show n00bs that you’ve been blasting Bane before blasting Bane was cool.
To receive your reward, simply play the Tabula Rasa Beta between October 25, 2007 12:01pm (Central Time) and October 26, 2007 11:59pm (Central Time). Your reward will become available starting at the end of November 2007 around Thanksgiving.
A unique in-game emote that only pre-launch players can do? A very creative reward, to be sure, from the mind that came up with the Ultima Online series. We can only wonder, though, what it looks like. Barring any out-of-context playground guesses, yours truly estimates that it's some sort of gesture to one's throat. Perhaps a slitting motion with the thumb, or something? Well, whatever it is, be sure to show every novice you'll happen upon come Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa's final build - that's putting them in their place!
