RemoteNote iPhone Homebrew: remotely edit notes on your iPhone from your PC - Image 1 - Image 1

The iPhone and the iPod Touch aren't just great music devices; they're great as an all-around gadget as well. One useful feature is the ability to make notes; but this feature can be a little daunting when you have to work with that itty-bitty on-screen keyboard. You just can't expect to write text-heavy documents on the thing.

Developer John Robinson found a way around this physical limitation. He developed RemoteNote, a new homebrew program which can let you remotely edit notes stored on your iPhone and/or iPod Touch. All you'll need is a PC (or any device with a standard web-browser) and a Wi-Fi connection.

Granted, the limitation with the program is that you'll actually need a PC to edit your notes, which kinda goes against the idea of being "mobile," but you get to give your thumbs a break and spread the work to all ten of your fingers. The homebrew has been tested to run on Internet Explorer, Opera, Safari, and Firefox for the PC and Mac.

RemoteNote has been tested on iPhone firmwares v1.1.3 and v1.1.4, but the developer notes that it should run on older firmwares as well. The homebrew program can be downloaded for free via your device's Installer.
