Radiation from mobiles linked to disturbed sleep - Image 1With all the improvements and technological advancements that we're experiencing right now, it's difficult not to live without a mobile phone. But using such a tool can take its toll on our bodies as a study done by Sweden's Karolinska Institute and Wayne State University suggests.

In their study, they were able to find out that radiation from mobile phones can cause insomnia, headaches, and confusion. Also, it can even cut the time of deep sleep - rendering the body unable to fully recover.

With funds from the Mobile Manufacturers Forum, the scientists were able to study 35 men and 36 women with ages ranging from 18 to 45. Some of the people being studied were exposed to radiation equal to that when using a mobile phone while the others were placed in the same conditions but with "sham" exposure.

Those who were exposed to the actual radiation took longer to enter the first of the deeper sleep stages. About half of those who were exposed reported symptoms such as headaches and weakened cognitive function from mobile phone use.

With their study on the effects of mobile phone radiation, the scientist said, "The study indicates that during laboratory exposure to 884 MHz wireless signals components of sleep believed to be important for recovery from daily wear and tear are adversely affected."

Never mind the radiation. But this gave me a headache: "The study indicates that during laboratory exposure to 884 MHz wireless signals components of sleep believed to be important for recovery from daily wear and tear are adversely affected." Should there be a comma in there somewhere? LOL
