The guys over at Mgame International contacted us with a new event they were running for their free-to-play MMORPG: Hero Online. In addition, they were also nice enough to provide us with a number of keys which gives access to free items for those participating in the event itself. Keys which we will be giving out to a number of lucky readers.

The event is called Majestic Muse Update which adds a new female character to the game called the Majestic Muse, a Persian with blond hair and blue eyes.

In combat, this character dual wields swords and uses stringed instruments to attack opponents. Incidentally, this is the first female character to be added to the game since its launch back in 2006.

During the event, which will be running until July 7, players can trade in coupons (i.e. the keys which we will be distributing) for free items. Those who haven't logged into the game for two months will also be getting a massive 80% experience gain.

In case you're new to Hero Online (those free items should help you get started) the game features a story created by first generation martial arts novelist Kum Kang. In addition, players will be able to pull off some of those crazy kung -fu moves in the movies including the ability to fly over buildings and walls.

For those who don't like to grind, the game also offers a reward system which grants players items, experience, and even additional ranks based on the number of kills they get during the time they play the game.

  

For those who are interested in the lore behind the Hero Online, here's the backstory of the game: In ancient times, 12 demons rampaged across China. No reason was given for their seemingly unprovoked attack, however, whispers and rumors abound that they were searching for an item known as the Thousand Year Treasure.

Of course, the great houses, Tae-San Pa of San-Dong, Gun-Pa of Hae-Nam, Bok-Gun, Kwang-Dong, Myo-Gang, Sa-Chun, Ok-Mun Guan, Dae-Mak, and San Suh all banded together to stop this threat, but their efforts were met with failure. Even the legendary Shaolin monks were unable to contain the 12 demons and stop them.

Just as it seemed like all hope was lost, a hero emerged. He devised a plan which lured the 12 demons into a killing ground where 3,000 of his best soldiers lay in wait. After ten days of continuous battle, the twelve demons were slain. Of course, this was at a horrible price. All 3,000 men never made it back to their families.

This hero, who became known as The Great Dragon, eventually went on to create his own house of warriors, an organization which attracted the greatest fighters across the land and kept the peace. Unfortunately, this wasn't to be.

One day, The Great Dragon was assassinated in his own home. The members of his own house found his wife cradling his dead body whispering "They're back...the Twelve of them have returned..." Now, China needs a new hero to stop the 12 demons, if indeed they have returned from the grave.
