QJ.NETHeads up, QJ readers! We've rolled out a couple new features today that should thrill and delight many of you... okay, so maybe that's pushing it a bit, but they're still cool! We know there's a few of you who just can't get enough of QJ.NET and visit us several times a day just waiting for new updates. Well now the updates are coming to you!

PSP Friendly Version!

The first thing on the list is something that has been LONG overdue and one of the features you folks have been asking for the most. How can a site that features the PSP and Mobile gadgets not have a version that supports these devices? How indeed! So we're thrilled to (finally) announce that we have a PSP friendly version of the site available! This "56k Friendly" version of the site should display just fine on your PSP, PDA, or other mobile device. It's been scaled down so it loads quickly, and even has the option of turning on/off the images.

QJ Blog NetworkYou can access the mobile version of the site several ways! In the "QJ Blog Network" panel, just click on "PDA" next to the blog you want to view and that's it! There is also a "PDA Version" link in the Navigation panel. And since entering URL's into the PSP Browser isn't always the easiest thing to do, we've taken that into account. All you have to do is add "/pda" to the end of the sub-domain of your favorite blog - so if you want to visit PSP Updates, the URL would be: pspupdates.qj.net/pda - it's that simple!

And guess what - we haven't forgotten about the Forums either, so you can take the community with you wherever you go! At the bottom left hand corner of the forums pages, you'll find a Style drop down menu - just select "WAP Beta" or "VB Lite" and you should have no trouble viewing the forums on the go, no matter what device you're using! Both of these settings are a little different, so see which works best for you. You can also change this setting in your User Control Panel Options.

QJ.NET Newsletter

So your friends are getting QJ in their inbox, but what about you? Don't worry, you're not left out either! QJ.NET can now send out email newsletters to let you know when a new article has been posted. How's it work? Well first, you have to be Registered here on the front page, and then you'll find the Newsletter Settings link at the top of the far right sidebar. From there, you can select whether you want a daily update of what's been posted on our blogs, or you can choose to be notified every time there's a new update. Now you'll never be out of the loop!

Shhhhhhh... it's a secret...

???My, my, my, QJ.NET has changed a lot this year, but our biggest changes are right around the corner! In a week or two, we should be tackling an aspect of the site that has been a source of complaints and grief for far too long. Most of you probably know what we're talking about. But even better than that, there's a ground breaking part of QJ.NET that we've been working on for quite a while now. And guess what? It's right under your noses and ready for wear - but you'll have to find it first! If you're not the sleuthing type, you'll have to wait until the official announcement to find out what's up. Both of these projects are part of our ultimate goal to give our readers more control and influence over what happens here at QJ! After all, in the grand scheme of things, this is your site - and we need your help to make it the best it can be!

As always, we're counting on your feedback on these new features to make them as useful and enjoyable as possible. There's bound to be some kinks and problems, so let us know what you find and what you want!

Long awaited but nice nowaday :)

Good work.

Testing it on my links2 psp at the same time and it seems to work fine.

Show Image = no leaves BIG empty space (about the size of the image ?)

/Edit

Actually no, no matter if "Show image" is yes or no, there are 2 uge empty zones at the begining.

Small glitch ... but overall it great :)

 » Some answers...

@ #4... that's an interesting idea...

@ #5... we'd like to post more homebrew too, but unfortunately we just report the news, we don't make it. ;)

@ #6... thanks for the feedback, we'll be continually tweaking and improving these new features

@ #7... I wish we could throw these sort of projects together in just a day or two. ;) These features have been on the drawing board for quite a while. We have site updates every 2 weeks, this one just happen to have a lot of user-end changes.

» Ok. You can read this quickly or slowly.

@ 95%+
Fifth Phantom Saga, Team Fortress 2 (HL2), Interstellar Marines, Killzone 2, Naughty Dog's Project, Project Offset, Resistance: Fall of Man, Virtua Fighter 5

@ 90%+
Armored Core 4, Burnout 5, Call of Duty 3, Crackdown, Devil May Cry 4, Heavy Rain, Metal Gear Solid 4, Mobile Suit Gundam, Motor Storm, Sonic the Hedgehog, Spore, Tekken 6, Turok, Warhawk

@ 85%+
Afrika, Alan Wake, Alone in the Dark, Army of Two, Assassin's Creed, BattleField 2142, BioShock, Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, CellFactor: Revolution, Coded Arms: Assault, Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, Crysis, Dark Sector, Eight Days, Enchanted Arms, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Excite Truck, Fatal Inertia, FEAR: Extraction Point, Final Fantasy III, Forza 2, Full Auto 2: Battlelines, Gears of War, Genji 2, Gran Turismo 5, Halo 3, Haze, Heavenly Sword, Lair, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, Medal of Honor: Airborne, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Need for Speed: Carbon, Resident Evil 5, Saints Row, StarCraft: Ghost, Stranglehold, Super Mario Galaxy, The Darkness, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, The Getaway 3, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Unreal Tournament 2k7, Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom, WarDevil, World of StarCraft

I’ve compiled this huge list which contains all the names of titles which will receive 85/100 or more based on the real-time movies and pictures (includes only PS3, X360, PC and Wii titles).

Just for a reference, on this list, the PS3 has most number of titles (PS3 > X360 > PC > Wii). Moreover if I measure the qualities of titles, it goes like this: PS3 > X360 & PC > Wii. So many titles which were released so far have been multi-platformers; and in most cases, different versions of same title have received different review scores because of many reasons. Take an example. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter was a multi-platformer. X360 version received 95%, Xbox got 60% and PS2 acquired 40% on average. This trend is same for most multi-platformers. If you are a MS fanboy and happy with X360 version of Assassin’s Creed, go ahead. If one title is released on PS3 and X360 both; then if PS3 version can receive 90%, on the other hand, X360 version may receive 75%. Should I mention that I’m nobody’s fanboy (Actually the only consoles I have actually bought were Xbox and Xbox 360; I have sold my Xbox, then I returned my X360 and got full refund; finally the only game machine I have now is my PC)?

 » hmmm...

I'd like it if i could select what parts of qj i wanted to load by default. For example I could specify Wii, PSP, and 360 to load when i bring up qj and any other of your sections would be ommited.

Is this the new 'Platinum Service' that we have to pay for??

   by CHUCKINGROCKSATSPACESHIPS - 2006-09-20
 » Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been waiting for this for some time now. I have voiced my concerns on this subject time and time again and I thank you. I have yet to try it out though. I used to check out the QJ sites sometimes on my PSP and now it will be so much better, it seems. I hope you guys have a feature for downloading all the video on the PSP ready to go. That would be wonderful!!! Another thing would be to have a way to download homebrew and install it correctly directly from your site to the PSP without the hassle of using the pc. Please make it so and again..... a BIG THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

Annony, no this has nothing to do with our Premium Service and is open to all our users. And for the record, the Premium Membership isn't new, it's been around for a year and you never noticed, so there's no need to feel threatened by it. :)

» I've Checked It Out But....

still a problem some with the layout. It sometimes shows fields overlapping even after choosing some of the view options. Also it would be nice to have an option to choose the video's in MP4 format compatable for the PSP. Great job though none the less. I will for sure be using this on my PSP. Thanks for the hard work.
