You hate the way the you keep misplacing your eye glasses. The idea of sticking your finger in your eyes to put on contact lenses isn't something you relish. Is there a middlegound? Yes. But it ain't painless. Presenting the Pierced Glasses.

Invented by James Sooy and Oliver Gibson, this minimalist eyewear involves body piercing. An internally-threaded barbell goes through the skin above the bridge of  the nose. L-shaped metal pieces are screwed onto the barbell. Rare earth magnets are then attached to the glasses to hold them. The bridge pieces sit on the nose and carry the weight of the lenses.

Sooy and Gibson think their pierced glasses are better than "Paying ... to have someone cut your eyes and shoot a laser in them..."  Apparently, they think eye laser surgery is "extreme" compared to  having your glasses permanently welded to your head. 

"They feel exactly like a regular pair of glasses, actually. I put the nose pads on to keep them from swinging around, so all the pressure is placed there, just like any other pair of glasses. Since they have no frame on the side I can wear them while I sleep and still roll onto my side," said James. Janet Jackson might go for it.
