Peter Moore guarantees - Image 1With an alarming rate of Xbox 360 failures, Microsoft answered with a three year warranty extension. Hardware sales skyrocketed soon after, and thousands of users became satisfied. Even so, it's undeniable that defective 360 units are out there. Why not just recall them to fix the problem entirely? "No recall required," said Peter Moore.

In an interview with Kotaku, Corporate VP and Chief Xbox Spokesperson Peter Moore stated that "it is not a product safety issue." He continued, "The great majority of people don't have [defective units]." Seems like he is positive that the warranty extension is enough to keep everyone happy.

Here's the gist of what he said:

This is not a product safety issue. It's a warranty that is there to take care of the customers that may or may not have this issue. And as you know, the great majority of people don't have this problem, but enough people do that we felt we had to take care of them.

 » hmmm...

so what about that new family that lost their child and house because their 360 caught on fire?

go ahead xbots, flame, defend, and show how cold hearted you are...not to mention the blind loyalty you follow to show that your 360 "never messes up" and "has better games"...btw Gears of War is all gloss (even in the dark?) and no great game play (wow, no custimizing, no big maps, and a few guns...wow a different way to melee kill a person, a chainsaw) Gears is pure hype, even KZ2 didnt use this much, but of course xbots dont care about story, gameplay, or graphics...just achievements...lol wow you got points in a non point orientated game...good for you, lol

Your entire post shows you have no idea what you are talking about.

 » HUH?......

What is this guy talking about?.... Gears is fanatstic game with the gameplay and graphics to go with it. Best multiplayer Ive played in 2 yrs. Anyways. Its pretty funny "how" PS3 gamers think KillZone 2 will be good. They said Killzone 1 would be good....but it sucked. I used to own a PS2 and for like 7 yrs and KZ1 SUCKED, seriously sucked. So why would KZ2 be any different? 2nd gen will suck twice as bad.

Please read this, you will be excited. When you click this link, http://xrl.us/2z4h you will go to a website that will show you how to sign up for another website that pays you 2 - 45$ (PER) to do surveys, sign up for trial offers, and test products.
Companies such as ebay pay CC to have people try their offers, and when you complete an offer, CC simply passes the money onto you. By spending an average of 3-4 hours a week on cascrate,
I have made 472$ in May, 412$ in June, and 271$ (SO FAR) in July. You get paid in real checks from "KNGSIDE MEDIA" every month that you earn 10 dollars or more. It may seem too good to be true,
but I assure you it IS true. Also, with their referral program, you can refer people by sending them your link (you get when you sign up) and for every buck they earn, you get 20 cents also! (Think how much money you can make if you have 100 people making five bucks a day)
You do not have to enter your credit card or social security number. Nothing Harmful can come from CC. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE 18 OR OLDER, I AM 15 YEARS OLD AND REFERRING PEOPLE, AND I MAKE THIS MUCH MONEY A MONTH
JUST SPENDING A COUPLE MINUTES A DAY ON THE COMPUTER! THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR READING THIS.
Think it's a scam? Read this(from the website) "We assure you that this is not a scam! Companies need consumers to try and review products, services, and websites and are willing to pay money to have them do so.
Most of the time you're asked to do this without any compensation, what we do is take the money companies give us for YOUR participation, and give you back up to 75% of it!"
There are alot of websites like this, I have tried almost all of them and this really is the best, and legit one.In addition there is a new UK section opened with more then $200 worth of free offers!

Sony laptop batteries catch fire and sometimes explode, creating a safety hazard.
That's why they were recalled.

If an XBOX 360 fails, you call up customer service, they send you a prepaid box, and you get your same repaired unit back in the mail in 2 weeks. It's not going to kill you or burn your house down.

I know a lot of people who've had their 360's break down and I suspect it may happen to mine since the drive makes some real weird noises now.

Hell I play it lying down to avoid the damn disk read error.

All the consoles out at the moment are awesome and the trailers for Gran Turismo and MGS4 look awesome. Can't wait for the 360 games coming out, especially Mass Effect.

i work for a in a 'game store" and you wouldnt blieve how many X360s' we get in all the time with angry kids and parent, some just buy a new one cuz microsoft wont help. and didnth they say 'oh we are going to heavily support vista and all new microsoft games will be on that OS, then why is gears on XP along with Vista, if i had known that i would have stuck with XP cuz Vista is sh*t

Re: Mr. Sensible (Unregistered) - 2007-07-16

What "game store" do you supposedly work for liar?

Microsoft has great customer support, and everyone I know that has dealt with them agrees.

Why must all PS3 fantards lie so much to try to save their failing system?

 » Everybody needs to chill

Alright, well i got my xbox 360 day 1, and I havnt gotton the three rings, yet, or anything on that matter, thats because I keep it well ventilated, its called turn a fan on, and youll be fine, all electronics get hot you just need to ceep it cooled. I gareentee you most the poeples 360s breaking are people who dont take care of fragile merchendise, aka young punks. These are made of steel, there like glass, gotta be careful, and people who complain of disk errors, thats probably cause you dont keep your damn cds or games in their case, or clean it with your damn shirt, its GOING To scratch. PS3 has a pretty nifty idead with the HOME, but recently with Sony interviews, thier real *****es about competitors, their using their other merchandise to justify PS3 when its not all that superior to the 360 and yet most higher ups tend to liek the 360 better? why? because of the cores 360 use, but all in all their two different platforms, and people just need to chill, its just a DAMN GAME!

"These are made of steel, there like glass." Wow that makes no sense at all. Steel is strong obviously thats why it's used, to make it secure and also conduct a lot of heat.

You must be borderline retarded if you cant realize he meant to say...

I've not heard of one problem with PS3 but I've heard of hundreds with Xbox360. What's with that? I think the 360 is made by monkeys FOR monkeys.

NCAA Football 08, MADDEN 08, Lair, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Stranglehold, GRAW 2, Medal of Honor, Eye of Judgement, Hot Shots 5, Tony Hawk, Grand Theft Auto 4, Singstar, Army of Two, Assasin's Creed, Rock Band, Turning Point-Fall of Liberty, Unreal Tournament 3, Socom-Confrontation, Lego Star-Wars, Haze, Brothers In Arms, Guitar Hero 3, Mercenaries 2, Call of Duty 4 and a Bunch of Others. Yep, guess I will have to go without any games until next year... oh well. This isn't to say many of these won't be on 360. Just don't say we don't have any games coming out this year. There are way more games than I have money to buy them with .

 » Dont worry everyone

There's more of us 360 owners than there are of PS3 owners, so lets all go to their forums and make up say how crappy the PS3 is! Come on everyone! reach out and touch a retarted Sony Fanboy.

Once Halo 3 comes out no one will give a flying rats ass about the Gaystation 3

So does this mean, every xbox 360 out there gets another 3 year warranty or what?

 » Replacement Killers

I've got a great idea everybody, why don't we go out and buy ourselves a cheap console knowing it will break down within a year (or three). Why bother? Just save up and do yourself (and your HDTV) a favour; buy PS3. It won't let you down.
