Despite the game's release date practically light years away, Fallout 3 (PC, Xbox 360, PS3) is already one game fans are eagerly awaiting. Bethesda Softworks' Pete Hines talked about following up this epic RPG series and making a sequel that both old fans and new players alike will enjoy.

Hines mentioned that a lot of the people in Bethesda were big fans of the Fallout series, and they took a lot of inspiration from this in making the game. He also admitted that continuing a franchise with such a huge fan base was a daunting task that they were willing to take on by keeping the old lore while adding in their own unique take on the game.

One of the things he stressed on was the importance of how they planned to tackle the game and please the Fallout purists:

Our basic philosophy, as silly as it may sound, is that we want to make games that we like to play. That was our big thing on Morrowind and on Oblivion - what kind of Elder Scrolls game would we want to play next, what would be the features of that game, what would it looks like, what would it play like and so on, and that's the game we went out and made.
