Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe - Image 1

Lots of parents out there monitor their kids' video games, and some even want to play too. Unfortunately, it gets a little tough for them to manage the controls, pretty much the same way some parents still ask their kids how to work their own cellphones. Fortunately for them, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) from Midway Games is parent-friendly, and the whole family can enjoy exchanging fatalities together.

The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry cites two reasons why some parents can't play: they find the controls too difficult, and the visuals can overwhelm their eyes. Would-be gaming parents would be glad to know that neither can be found in MK vs. DC. The controls are easy enough to learn and master, while the graphics, while remaining at par with current gen console visuals, are easier on the eyes.

As far as the gore is concerned, MK vs. DC would be the first MK title to receive a T (Teen) ESRB rating - all the rest got a bloody M. You would still get a bit of splattering blood here and there, but there won't be any need for parents to go aghast. Besides, they can tweak the gore settings before playing.

So if you and your dad ever debated whether Batman could take Sub-Zero out, now's the time to have a go and see who's right.
