Paramount logo - Image 1Now we know what exactly Paramount had in mind when it mentioned that it plans to increase its presence in the gaming industry. As it turns out, Paramount will self-publish or co-publish games, with some of the titles expected to be released later this year.

However, Paramount Pictures will still keep on licensing some of their IPs to other publishers and developers like before, despite their plans of expanding their interactive department to directly oversee development of some of their new titles. Sandi Isaacs, senior vice president of Paramount's Interactive and Mobile, explained:

We are entering into deals now where we will be publishing games this year. There's going to be a slate where in some cases we're publishing, in some cases we're co-publishing, or in others we're funding development and another publisher buys it. It's important for us to have a flexible model.

Aiding Paramount in its quest to deliver quality gaming are Matt Candler, whom Isaacs appointed as the new vice president of interactive development, and Luke Letizia, the new executive director of interactive licensing.
